Who said you need to memorize a lot of Chess opening theory? In this lesson you will see me just playing blitz games and I will be using only the Opening I consider to be the best opening system for you at this point in our course. I already told you how this opening is easy to learn and how it works against 1.e4 and 1.d4. However, this time I will be also playing it as White. This will help you understand the Czech Pirc System even better than before. Just like I mentioned before, you still must learn the main opening systems if you want to be a complete Chess player. However, mastering the Czech Pirc will provide you with a solid system to rely on!
00:00 Intro
02:35 1st game using the Pirc Defense System as White vs 1491 player
08:40 2nd game using the Pirc Defense System as Black vs 1717 player
15:24 3rd game using the Pirc Defense System as Black vs 1914 player
17:36 4th game using the Pirc Defense System as Black vs 1998 player
24:15 5th game using the Pirc Defense System as White vs 2160 player
26:44 6th game using the Pirc Defense System as White vs 2053 player

Learn how to play Chess the right way from beginner to master level. National Master Robert Ramirez will take you up the pyramid by following a proven Chess training program he has been improving and implementing for over 10 years.
Benefits of Playing Chess:
- Promotes brain growth
- Increases problem-solving skills
- It exercises both sides of the brain
- Raises your IQ
- Sparks your creativity
- Teaches planning and foresight
- Teaches patience and concentration
- Optimizes memory improvement
- Improves recovery from stroke or disability
- Helps treat ADHD
Chess is an intellectual battle where players are exposed to numerous mental processes such as analysis, attention to detail, synthesis, concentration, planning and foresight. Psychological factors are also present on and off the board; playing Chess stimulates our imagination and creativity. Every single move a player makes is the result of a deep analysis based on the elements presented on the battlefield.
Chess in its essence teaches us psychological, sociological and even moral values. In a Chess game, both players start with the same amount of material and time. The fact that the white pieces move first is considered to be practically irrelevant -especially because a player typically plays one game as white and one game as black. Consequently, the final result of the battle solely depends on each player. It doesn’t matter if you win by taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes or by simply avoiding mistakes yourself. Truth is that Chess is an extremely individual sport and our defeats can only be blamed on ourselves and no one else. And this, in the end, only benefits us because we learn to be and feel responsible for our actions and never come up with excuses to justify ourselves.
About National Master Robert Ramirez:
With an outstanding background as a professional Chess player and over 8 years of teaching experience, Robert Ramirez brings both his passion and his expertise to the board, helping you believe & achieve!

@NMRobertRamirez
@NMRobertRamirez 3 года назад
@@Thisrandomguyonline Good question! In the description of this video, you will find a link that will take you to my book recommendations. There, I listed two books about the Pirc (main line with g6 and Bg7). Now, when I first prepared the Pirc, I did it using a Chess encyclopedia. This is basically pages of lines without any explanation - nothing like a book. Then, by reviewing games of other players and playing it myself, I understood it better. These two books I am recommending were brought to my attention by one of my students who would consult me any time he found a line he wanted to go deeper into. I ended up buying them, but I only reviewed specific chapters to assist him and I can tell the information is well presented and clear. If I had to pick one, I would pick the one by James Vigus. If you get any, let me know what you think.

Thank you for your kind words, Muhammad! And yes, that's my philosophy as well -the most important thing is middle and endgame training. I am sure most of your games are decided in those stages instead of in the opening. Once you get more advanced, you might dedicate more time to opening training. Truth is that after a while you will feel like you need to add another opening to your repertoire, but that's okay. At that point you will have a really good foundation on middle and endgame. Maybe by then you start looking into the regular Pirc (lesson # 69) and the King's Indian Defense (lesson # 85) 👍

You will learn how to play against one of the most dangerous variations your opponent can choose against the Czech Pirc, but more importantly, you will learn how you can atudy any opening.

Hey Brian! Good question. As a general rule, I try not to break on d5 when their knight is on c3. And of course, whenever that knight is not on c3, doing d5 immediately comes to mind I if the timing is right I would do it. In this specific position you refer to, I would not mind if his knight was there because if he took with his knight on d5 then I take with my knight from f6. If instead he takes his bishop first, even better for me since he is giving up his fianchetto bishop. Does this make any sense?

Absolutely. Do not forget that Nb5 is what we call a one-move threat. We can easily attack that knight by doing a6 and he wasted a tempo at the end of the day.

What time control is ideal for this set up? Can we use it in rapid and in longer time controls?
@NMRobertRamirez
@NMRobertRamirez 2 года назад
@@teachercoachnapoleon1156 you can use it for any time control as long as you understand this opening. You will see in lesson # 57 that I mention how GM Akobian uses it in serious tournament games and I always show where you can find some of his games for free 👍

The Czech Pirc is so fun! How high of an ELO do you recommend playing the Czech Pirc as white? I’ve never seen any other coaches recommend playing it as white. Thanks!

@kch2005 2 года назад
Great video as always. One question though: Do you recommend this version or the "regular" Pirc defense as primary opening as black?
@NMRobertRamirez
@NMRobertRamirez 2 года назад
Hello! The Czech Pirc is simpler to implement and pretty solid. The regular Pirc is more dynamic and offer more for Black, but it requires more time to learn properly. I would recommend starting with the Czech and eventually transitioning into the regular, which is the one I currently use the most 👍

@@NMRobertRamirez thanks for the elaboration. What rating would you suggest that one starts exploring the traditionel Pirc?
@NMRobertRamirez
@NMRobertRamirez 2 года назад
@@kch2005 no problem! I would say you start with the regular Pirc when you feel you need something else. Some people simply don't feel the need to use any other opening for a long time 👍

Thanks GM Robert! Also may i ask, at the 2nd game why did you go Be7 instead of fianchetto-ing it?

Pls which app do you use for your chess lessons I'm puzzled at why you receive high increments (points) up to 50! at each win

Thanks for the awesome lecture! Do you think that focusing on system openings like this one is fine for someone who's starting out? I'm learning the Jobava for white and might use this as my sole opening for black as it seems easy to learn.
@NMRobertRamirez
@NMRobertRamirez 3 года назад
My pleasure! Regarding your question, assuming you have had experience playing king's pawn openings, you are definitely okay with starting to specialize on opening systems like the Czech Pirc and the Jobava. However, it is crucial that you continue to get exposure to other openings. When I say exposure, I mean reviewing games from other players even if you never use such openings. Many ideas from other openings can be used in the systems you play. Not to mention that it will help you with your game in general. Anyways, as I continue to add more lessons, you will learn about those other openings too through games we will be analyzing. This week, I will be adding a lesson on an opening for white, which can offer the same thing as the Jobava, but I will also show you a twist you might enjoy. Thanks for your feedback & I hope I answered your question :)

since ive watched your videos on the kings indian Ive really improved my opening game, not playing random moves anymore or getting into easy traps because i dont rly know many other openings. Now i feel like i rly need to work on my endgame because i struggle with actually finishing the game while having an advantage (mostly a minor piece ahead at some point)
