That was a beautiful game. Zach played the way Rudolf Spielmann advised: "Play the opening like a book, the middle game like a magician, and the endgame like a machine".

I slightly disagree I think he played the middlegame ‘like a machine’ definitely not ‘like a magician’ in this case 😂🤷🏼‍♂️ It wasn’t wild tactics, it was really just great positional and pawn play that overwhelmed the opponent He solidly outplayed his opponent

This kid drew Evgeny Bareev in the canadian open last year. Evgeny is #1 in canada as of right now and in his peak was 4th in the world!

18:42 a3 wins because you take the b4 square away and put the king on e2 Rc5 and then take a5 resulting in a completely winning endgame with an outside passer.

16:35 idk if it works but i found dxe7 Rxc5, exf8=Q Kxf8, Re8 Qxe8, Rxe8 Kxe8, Nd6 Kd7, bxc5 and the pawn protects the knight and it should be winning.... does it work?

a3 is winning at the end because you cut off the bishop off the defense of a5 with pawn+rook+king and you can take it or force a4 and take it

You play well but your technique I needs tweaking. When you're up material you should exchange pieces ( as you did ) and NOT allow complications.

I dont disagree that he has amazing understanding or that he can become an IM, but to say that he is RIGHT NOW at a spot where he has better understanding than Rosen is crazy and simply delusional. Rosen would smoke him in an adoption match
