WOW....amazing performance...the best i have seen on this number. You can see every word, every emotion on her face. She is amazing!

This is a lovely version of one of my favorite songs. Even though I don't understand Swedish, the two actors clearly show the action in the story. The lady singing does a wonderful job, and, yes, I would love to see and hear more of this musical play from this production.

The conversation at the beginning is correctly translated until at 0:32 when Florence really says "Do you think I let him treat me as he pleases?" and the when she sings it should be: Not me that happens to other women I've got my defense it doesn't happen to me Not me who've lived with lionesses Friends that I have who knows to protect themselve Has he destroyed me, how did it happen I am the strong one it always go as I please and him if someone were to be called weak then it's him and not me

This is THE only valid performance of this moving song. Judy Kuhn comes in a close second but this is the real deal. If this doesn´t talk to you, you are not human......

I love this song, both the swedish and the english version. Helen is really amasing, her voice is lovely!

I love the grand piano on stage, with live play. It's actually a "stage prop" that belongs to the bar scene. But they make elegant use of it.

Okay, I don't know about you guys, but I think this woman sang this song beautifully! She is simply perfect for this part. and I just watched Idina sing this in English, and it just...wasn't right. as much as I love Idina and all her work, this woman does a much better job at portraying the character.

She might me singing completely different lyrics but they seem to fit the English ones extraordinarily well. This is an absolutely wonderful song and her interpretation and vocal control are second to none. The orchestration here is also first class - so much better then the original.

I've listened to eight different productions of Chess, and Helen is by far the best Florence I have heard. Amazingly beautiful voice and interpretation of the character.

I have to agree-I know the English lyrics by heart, I'd love to know what she's saying in Swedish. I've seen Swedish translations of a few of the other songs, and they're actually quite different from the English-generally I find them to be more affecting... but thanks for the effort thus far :)

@HioMioHana Ja alltså, den engelska översättningen i klippet är ingen översättning - det är låtens originaltext. Den är redan "förvanskad"/bearbetad en gång vid översättningen till svenska. Skulle man sedan översätta tillbaka igen till engelska hamande man långt från originalet.

I really have to disagree... I'm watching a Swedish video for the Swedish adaptation. I could easily listen to the American cast should I wish to find the English lyrics. As stated some time ago, the songs I have found to be translated from the Swedish bring a completely different & wonderful dimension to this musical.

my Swedish is very spotty, but isn't the final line in the chorus "inte han og inte jag"?

'I know him so well' in the Swedish version is a big-old argument between the two girls...what's the whole story of the swedish one then?

these subtitles give the impression that she is singing the same lyrics - but directly translated into swedish. lol. she isnt. :) the first lines: inte jag (not me) sånt händer andra kvinnor (it happens to other women) jag har mitt försvar (I have my defences) sånt händer inte mig (it doesnt happen to me) :)

"Translation" has little or nothing to do with what is actually sung. I know exactly how hard it is to translate well when the text is linked to something, like music, but it might be an advantage if the text actually is at least on the same subject as the singing?

The melody is the same but the lyrics and the meaning is not the same as in the english version.

I think it's great that you're doing this...but...these translations are wrong. For this production, they gave this song to a different character and changed the situation, and so they had to change the lyrics. The original lyrics make absolutely no sense in this context. There's another video on youtube of this performance with better (if grammatically sketchy) lyrics, look at that to get some idea of what they're actually saying.
