Hello, I just bought the mega mat and I live in Greece. This product is VERY expensive to reach me and I have tried several wet erase, dry erase and blackboard markers on a small corner of the mat and they only came off after using alcohool solution. Can you please explain me the exact type of marker that I should google and see if I can find in Greece? Many thanks !

Wet erase overhead projector pens should work fine, but stick to using: black, blue or green. If you want the official pens, I have provided the name and an Affiliate Amazon link to purchase them. Thanks for replying. I cannot understand the type "overhead projector pen" as I'm trying to find it here in greece with that name and I can't find anything. I cannot order from Amazon because the tax to bring it here is double the original price! The mega mat arrived at me with final cost $89.72 !!!! So if you can make an example of the variety of pens so I can probably google to find any Greek sellers, that would be lovely. (I have tried "wet erase overhead projector pen" and it only prompt me to Amazon. What about the Edding 380 Flipchart Marker? Can you tell me if that is a compatible type?

You have to use NON-PERMANENT, WET ERASE (I've seen that Staedtler calls them WATER SOLUBLE and defines them as "overhead-projection pens") marker. The best pens to use on these vinyl mats, are Crayola Markers, intended for children. I have left them on my Megamats for over one month, and they came off without issue, no traces left behind, using Windex, a window cleaning solution. Crayola Markers are washable, so they made certain the ink will come out of children's clothing, easily. They work great. Cheers!

Hello, only markers I have found are Uni wet wipe. If I don't find steadlers/stabilo or something else in my small town I will test them...hopefully they come off ^^'

What would happen if you use a dry erase marker on it?

It will stain and not come off with water. You will need to use an alcohol based clean to remove the marker and it will likely damage the mat. Did you use a dry erase marker?

Good video, but puzzled by your statement that it is "not suitable for an new dungeonmaster or not experienced with a vinyl mat". Not sure you inherently gain knowledge of cleaning products from being a GM, and surely yiu read and use the instructions and apply common sense? Anyway, nitpicking, thanks for the review, now just need to decide on size...small one is very small, big one very big. Really need a medium one. I feel like Goldilocks and the Three Mats.

Thank you. I made a whole series of video's on what to use cleaning this mat and this review. The reason was that new DM's I knew were damaging the mat, because of a lack experience using the mat.

Hello, before I order the mat, I have a question: Will any wet erase markers work? I've found some washable Giotto felt-tip pens in my local store, as ordering from Amazon is really expensive here (20 dollars for the markers - almost the same price as the actual mat!), and I'm wondering if they would work.

This is awesome!!! I just got myself one of these, only when i opened it there was a lot of wrinkling due to the way it was shipped. I know its the folds are not permanent, but what is the most effective way to fix the folds, and how do i store it without encountering them again?

Lay the Chessex mat on a hard flat surface for about a week with heavy books stacked on top of it, till the wrinkles are removed. The video states to roll-up the Chessex mat. Just like a cylinder.
