Good video. I suggest replacing the felt pads on the bottom of the board with heavy duty felt chair sliders. They’re very durable and makes sliding/spinning the board around very easy

That offline save feature is sick. This Pro board seems to be an instant classic. I loved how there were times in the game where you missed a move and had to re-place the pieces and even knocked down a piece on accident and the board just knew the deal and didn’t go crazy. Of the few online enabled boards I have seen chessnuts seems to operate on a new level, and this one is a beauty.

Yes, to my knowledge there's no other board to where you can actually save games to the actual board without using the app. Great implementation and works well. I've never had an issue with it.

Received my Chessnut Air a week ago and absolutely loving it. One issue i have is if i try and play the AI through the Chessnut app it doesn't respond i presume this is an app issue as i have no problems with Chess Dojo or White Pawn.

When a game is saved and stored in the board’s memory how can a person find the game stored to continue play on that particular saved game? In addition why does the screen on the app disappears at time stamp 16:45 then reappear on time stamp 17: 11 after some moves were made between those lost screen seconds? In a way you can recall a game and finish playing it. What you have to do is just do a position setup to continue playing the game. As far as the app disappearing, that has absolutely nothing to do with the moves, I am making the moves with the board and it's not the app disappearing. It's the tablet. Just making the screen dim to save battery.

They both are really good boards. The major difference between them is that the millennium board is more modulated meaning that it does not contain a battery or the Bluetooth module to play online, so therefore it would take up more real estate. For that reason I would say more people would like to Chessnut pro because it's not modulated and the footprint that it would take up on your desk would be much less.

@@simone76 they both are made out of pretty good quality materials. They both work well in terms of functionality online. Neither one has any issues with that. They both have great third-party support as well, but I just recently made a video on chessnut third party support which you can refer to, which essentially is the same for millennium. @@katzenpapa But what is the advantage of being more modulated? I don't see any. Millenium ST 55 costs even more with chess link and Chess volt.

@@simone76 You are right, there is no practical advantage. Most of the current Millennium boards are more of a collector's item.

How weighted are the pieces? I like the Air but i wish it was larger. I often play on my wooden triple weighted set and just move on the app because i prefer larger weighted pieces so much more.

These are not triple weighted pieces, they feel to be standard weight. I think you can get triple weighted pieces for the DGT wooden boards

It's dosen't need to be connected to a computer or anything else like an app to record OTB games.

I don't know what system requirements for the app are, it's probably pretty low, so my guess would be that just about any tablet with the latest (or recent) software versions would run the app with no problem.

@@katzenpapa If you play many games in a row online, this option is essential, because otherwise you have to rotate the board every time you change color, and doing that with a board of that size and weight is very complicated. If the board have piece recognition it should be easy to implement that from a programming point of view. If I'm not wrong, there are other eboards that do.

They both are great boards, but I'd lean toward the Chessnut Pro because of the LEDs so you don't have to have the moves announced when playing online. One advantage of DGT boards is that they have a variety of piece sets to choose from.

@@MarioLacunza The large DGT boards (tournament boards) have piece recognition, the DGT Pegasus not. But be aware that the bluetooth version of the large tournament boards does not work with iOS devices

I am on my second attempt with this board (the first one I returned a few months ago because the wood was substandard and the board did not work). I am having the same problem with this board (not the substandard wood...but the other problem). The other problem is all 32 of the starting squares are all lit up (as if there are no pieces on them). And in the app the pieces are all highlighted in red. I've tried the pieces on both sides. When I pick up a piece the square stays lit. The board connects to android successfully via Bluetooth. It's acting like the pieces have no chips in them. Do you know what I might be missing?

Where are you downloading your app from? I would not use the app in the Google store if you are on Android, go to the Chessnut website and download the APK or install the beta app and if that makes a difference.

@@katzenpapa Thanks. I figured out what it was. I had it on a standing desk and right below the desktop is the desk adjustment mechanism and a power strip. One or both of those things seems to be causing interference. Which is annoying since I've had a Millenium Supreme 55 board in the same spot for two years without such issues. I'm wondering if putting a static shielding strip under the board would prevent this.

@mark100net1 Glad you figured it out. Not sure how to stop interference but I think your suggestion of getting static shielding is a good first step. Maybe the best bet. Try sitting it on a silicone pad and just see, on the off chance, will that help.
