Game three of the GEICO Top Flight Invite was electric with several top ranked players in the ESPN 100. Jaden Hardy and Frankie Collins (Michigan commit) led Air Nado against no. 1 ranked Chet Holmgren, Hercy Miller and Team Sizzle.
So I was at this game tonite. The highlights make it look way better than it was. Chet was passive in the first half and his teammates couldn’t handle pressure D. Hardy had 20 in the first half and Frankie was hoopin. In the second half Chet went crazy on them and Hardy got clamped by #10. Hardy didn’t score a bucket in the second and he couldn’t get his shot off. Frankie was making poor decisions with the ball too. They had 49 points in the first half and finished with 57. That should tell the story. Chet was blocking everything but it didn’t seem like his teammates believed he was the #1 player in the country. The coaching was pathetic on both sides and the refs were letting ppl get away with hard obvious fouls.
Lol maybe so but you gotta remember tuey are still only high school players they are still developing as well as the coaches and refs , why so serious ?
what a coincidence, at 11:17 I know the one with the light blue shoes that just high-fived one of the players, in the black shirt. there's a team I play with here in LV (a few hundred miles from where this game was) and he plays on the team too. I was watching games of Chet and all, apparently there are tournaments on the weekends for most teams, with varying locations, so that's cool.
I like Jaden Hardy, but just because someone is face guarding don’t mean you can’t go and still score. You one of the best in the country, you should score whenever.
Every one from my era which is go to the hole you get foul you bleeding, but anyway I see " The small shorts is making a come back" compression shorts or boxers stocks is soaring "!🏃♂️🏃🏾♀️🏀
It’s going to be interesting how Chet would fair without Jalen Suggs. Jalen has been carrying the load for the entire team offensively when he was still in High School.
thats on his coaches tho too. They gotta tell him to shoot the damn ball. Every 3 for him is basically uncontested, he should be taking at least 10 a game confidently
@@dualhearts2035 10 3’s per game? That doesn’t make sense for a big man. He gets the job done but 3’s can cost you the game. And since he’s not a knockdown shooter he should probably be taking 2 or 3, maybe 4 at most.
@@micah3080 "For a big man"?? We're not just talking about some big man here, it's Chet Holmgren. He's been working on guard skills his entire basketball career and depending on match-ups, height doesn't always win down low. He's a skinny 7 footer with very good mechanics and a high release. You literally can't guard that. If he shoots 4 a game that's only 1 three per 10 minutes, and with the way he shoots that is insane to me. You could easily double that and have him shoot 2 threes per 10 minutes and he should still probably shoot more if they're open or in rhythm. Sometimes the best look you're going to get is an early 3 or an open 3 from one of your best shooters.
Patrice Stur 3’s can cost you the game?? What year are you living in? Can we leave the “die by the 3” bullshit in the past. It’s the most valuable shot in the NBA by a mile, so Chet should take as many as he can comfortably get up.
@@GoZags43 that's what I mean lol he's not passive on defense, but he's 7 foot with jumper... stop being passive and dominate like he has been doing since this video
really like a bigs that has some moxy and attitude...blocking shots and getting in guys grills is good. Once he gets that sloppiness out of his long range jumper (yes I know he is 7'1") and his slow foot work on D he will be awesome.
CHET just showed me hes a 1st round pick he changed and blocked shots all game his team was very undermatched . He didn't quite look like he scored a ton but the way he doesn't get fouls and blocks and alternate shots is nba level
@@AC-nx7qr i was just talking about his defense i didn't mention the offense which will be better over time than his defense im saying right now i like his defensive potential
@@madreausti8449 nigga had 30 points on the night and it’s quite obvious they keyed on hardy the second half which is why they couldn’t score like they wanted.
Red #33 bumps black #10 with his body before #10 passes the ball. The ref signals "blocking" and then makes a dump-off sign to emphasize that foul was before the made shot that followed.
Hardy went off in the first half and was getting face guarded and keyed on in the second half which is why they only scored 10 points in the second half.
If Holmgren can physically develop his game will be tremendous. Right now he's all attitude and manhandles boys. When he goes pro he will go against men. If he wants to play some inside he will have to bulk up.
@@Luis-of2ud that’s not how the rules work 🤦♂️. It’s only from when he picks the ball up the steps count. I can bounce the ball up into the clouds take 1000s of steps then catch it when it comes down and take 2 steps and it not a travel.
@@marcellusmencarini he has a more nba ready game.. standing at like 6’5 is a good range for shooting guards/ point guards who can shoot the deep three, he has a pretty tight handle too. He over anyone else in this class stands out as an NBA ready player after a year.
