You know what's really fukd? My sister introduced me to this band. She was involved with a methhead who also convinced her it was a great idea. She told me she listened to this to escape him and try and feel better. He's in prison, shes now a realtor and clean as can be. We listen together from time to time. Thanks for existing..

seriously one of the most under rated bands I listen to, they're heavy without being abrasive to new comers to the metal genre like the black dahlia murder or rings of saturn, and emotional without ever coming close to sounding cliched like every pop punk or "emo" band to date.. Imo Alternative metal has two mainstays, the Deftones (my favorite band) and Chevelle

The older you get the more you understand, the more experienced their songs become.

Chevelle is an underrated band that consistently puts out great albums, but this one was a masterpiece. I bought it brand new in 2004 and fell in love with it immediately. Starting with this song? Definitely the right choice.

This band is on fire here. 🔥Had it not been for a football video game, I'd have never discovered them. Their management and record company didn't do them any favors. They're great. Drums are super tasteful and that guitar is KILLER! That Bass on the floor! Great vocals too.

That bass GOT DAMN! I'm not usually a bass man, but it grabs you in this one.

Funny enough, because they are technically a Christian rock band (but don't really show it), I believe these words are more along the lines of Jesus on the cross than anything. "Could we have known, never would I, helped to nail down." (Our sins helped nail Him to the cross.) "This should be you." (He took our place on the cross because He knew we couldn't pay the price for our sins, so He Himself became sin and died for us instead.) It's really a cool song. If you really listen to their songs in this aspect, there are a lot of Easter eggs like this in most of their music. They are very quiet and subtle about it, which is their style, but I love their music so much ♥ So glad I grew up in that generation of music ♥♥

I was spending the night with my brother, after a night of gaming and hanging out I wake up to Chevelle on his alarm, I took a moment just to glare in his direction now 10 years later I'm 24 and I see what he was always talking about when I was younger before 12 and now.. it's crazy. . Love u bro.. family doesnt change.. sucks we don't hang much, yeah I got me a girl now and shes the most beautiful thing that has ever happen to me. Hope one day family can be family again ..

No one pointed out this is the opening song on this Album. 2004, the day the CD came out, a trip to Best Buy, It took me 5 minutes to open the plastic and sticker crap to finally feed it in my Alpine CDA 9855. Anticipation...the first 10 seconds goosebumps and mind blown! Was so amped up! Thank you Chevelle!

I was 10, a schoolgoing kid in India when i first came across this. The local channels used to play this sometimes and I was always happy when this came on. I loved it so much, had a lot of melody for a hard rock song and also the music video fascinated me. Fast forward 17 years and I’m still listening to this from time to time, the only difference is now I can understand it better. Music surely does not have any boundaries..

i just can't say it enough.. this band is amazing! the only comparison to tool i can see would be vocals to some minor degree... everyone has their influences, right? but to me, chevelle is chevelle, their own unique sound and writing style! a power trio in their own right!

For me, Chevelle was most prominent in my college years. Such a great sound. They were never in my top 1-3 rotation but man everytime I put them on, I was never disappointed. Same as now (2024)…you listen to them and it’s just intense musicality blended with emotion and “feels”. Feels good man…
