His first car was Pink 1956 Ford Victoria num.K-2 he got the color from mixing all the leftover paint togather from his Dad's shop, pink was the results.
No. It was a short track car. They released a die-cast of it years ago. The story was that the car was supposed to be an apricot color but when the paint dried, it wound up being far more pinkish than apricot. The only part of the car that retained the intended color of the car was the roof.
Beryllium Dude, Gordon was sponsored by a PAINT company (DuPont), and, i think that have a rainbow car... isn't too bad... (?) And Earnhardt, every the info what i know from his 1st start, he wont have any sponsorship, and the paints of his blue-yellow 2 car... its weird... (The Wrangler's paint scheme of the 15 - 3 car is just perfect, but the 2 car...)
Fun fact: Even though Dale Earnhardt Sr had 38 wins and 3 championships during the 1980s (1980, 1986, 1987), he actually comes in second to Darrell Waltrip on the list of the winningest NASCAR drivers of the 1980s, as Waltrip had 57 wins and 3 championships (1981, 1982, 1985).
That's interesting, because that's half of his wins. So he got half of his win total in the '80s. That would mean he won 35 races in the '90s, and the other 3 came in '79 and 2000 respectively. Also, he probably would've won more in the '80s if he didn't bounce around to 2 other teams during that time. '81 was kind of a hangover year from his first Championship, and he couldn't quite get everything together with Bud Moore's team for the long run. It's also worth noting that he only finished a handful of points behind Rusty Wallace in 1989. That was the closest Dale came to winning a championship in the black #3 car in the '80s.
The car was changed simply because the team felt the Rainbow scheme had run it's course. In an odd coincidence, if you look at the majority of Gordon's career, his main scheme changed each time a new President took office. Went to the flames in 2001 after Bush was sworn in and then again in 2008 when Obama was sworn in.
I miss when detroit brands actually gave a shit about marketing in Nascar, theyd feature all their drivers in tv ads. Now, GM dosnt spend a dime to market their Camaro and hasn't had anything but pathetic tv ads for non pickup Chevys for about 15 years. A Shame for the brand, and certainly the Camaro.
Thomas McGinley well it was a long way to the black Monte Carlo, it was white Dodge Charger, light blue and yellow Monte Carlo 1st gen (possibly 2nd gen), #15 Pontiac, #3 3rd gen Monte Carlo then a black one, 1990 lumina and yea then the black Monte Carlo
+Sean Sullivan third if we're going by Body style changes I belive it was a 77. first gen is 70-72. second is 73-76 then 77 till they went to a mid size
I am not sure but I assume that ralph (dale's dad) tried to mix white and red and tried to make it a different color that was not pink but it turned out that way
lol "do you find Earnhardt intimidating?" Actual response: "Yeah he wrecks other cars like it's a demolition derby, thinks it's okay and running people off the road is racing. I don't want my expensive car torn to pieces or to get injured". Feb 18, 2001 racers:"well he died how he lived, how ironic. can we get back to actually racing now?"
@@nascarandrc8296 lol wow you got triggered quick. HAHAHA! That's a true tell tell sign of a snowflake. If you need to crash cars to win, you're not racing. That's demolition derby shit! Dale couldn't handle my racing favorites, Don Garlits, John Force, Eddie Hill, that's why all he could do is make left turns.
