Great video, I love the details you show with not skipping a step and exactly explaining what the process is from being to ending. Very detailed, thank you very much for this video.
So happy I found this channel it's helped me find that my truck has multiple burnt intake valve an all this 5 days before a 5000km road trip I tried simple cheap things before thowing major parts at it and with the simple 100$ test at a local shop for the leak test we found 3 burn intake cables an 2 burned exhaust valves truck had loads of power just rough idle an smoke apon starts so glad I seen this before wasteing thousands in new parts for a internal problem
Awesome video. Going into detail on the diagnoses of the problem was very helpful, vs. just saying whats wrong and fixing it. Showing the computer screen, graphs, and NUMBERS in real time are great visual learning aids.
I'm glad I found your channel. Your presentation is spot on. The only negative is lack of ability to read scanner screen at times and lack of focus at times.
I really enjoyed this video... Thank you for making it! I am having a similar issue with my 04 Silverado and found this while researching "how to" videos. Excellent job!
I like the way you always follow your set process .....good explanations of what you are doing and why you are doing it and good review at the end I must set some time aside to watch your previous videos too!!
Thank you so much. you have a great teaching way. love this diagnostic video. I have a 2010 GMC Sierra 5.3 with the FMS P0300 Won't g into Close Loop at all. MIL on and Flashing, Suspecting collapse Lifter in Bank 1 Cyl. 7
Thanks for the detailed explanation! I have the exact trouble codes this truck had on my ‘03 Suburban. Fuel trim on mine are also within spec I’m going to try and tackle these over the weekend. I’m just a budget dad trying to save money learning from guys like you on RU-vid.
Great video frérot!! Q. When do you need to use high amp clamp? Can you do a video showing how to test various components' health with the scope ( alternator, starter, fuel pump, blower motor)... Please do a complete explanation from the way to setup the scope onward...🙂
Usman The Mechanic I will do a series of videos on how to use a scope to test electronic components, I will upload them as soon as I can, stay tuned bro...
Awesome! It is amazing how much we learn when one has the right teacher. Your video was very well explained to where I was able to keep up with you. I realize that I don’t know your name but thank you sir. If i may throw a question at you: Concerning TPMS on 09 Silverado, check left/back sensor comes on/off in cold weather then suddenly it is out and check front/right light comes on ..nothing else and tire pressure is checked every other day. Is there a “central” point to where I can check this?
Really great video I accidentally came across your channel the other day, love your content. But you said something that stood out to me , based on the statement here's my question. If the command was 0% which the actual data was showing 10% how can you tell that the solenoid was open based of the actual data when the solenoid doesn't have a position sensor?
leo That's a great question the ECM kind of senses the opening position of the solenoid based on the amount of the current flow on the circuit!! so the ECM commands the solenoid and also watches the current flow to determine the position of the solenoid!!
I have a 97 Tahoe and a p0300 code trying to figure out what it could be I also looked at your video to see if I can pinpoint the problem but as you explained it can be anything but I do nothing sometimes it happens sometimes it doesn't it's in and out I'm getting a popping noise from the tail pipe when driving slow and sometimes when I speed up as well just been trying to figure out what it is thank you
Hi there 👋, thanks for your educational videos. My question is, how do I test power and ground for purge Valve Solenoid before replacing it, because I don't have an expensive diagnostics machine please? I tested ohms and continuity for the solenoid and it's ok, but no voltage and ground
we don't need to be test , rear sensor from EVAP vacum box filter, because sometime it fails too.is its not how we test it sensor? tanks man you're very good.
Kit. Awesome videos. Why is the p0300 so tough. I have thrown everything in this truck I put a new mass air flow. Then a week later now it says bad mass airflow again. 1357 when I undo the coil pack no change at all
Hey men! the way you use that scan tool is like butter on a hot knife, it is so smooth! is that snap on scanner? do you have any recommendation on a diy scanner for a job like that? thanks
Erica Bm high positive fuel trim numbers can be caused by a vacuum leak, dirty mass air flow sensor or Low fuel pressure... check these things one by one and you'll find your problem!
@@Ericabreezy your fuel pressure should be between 55 ans 65PSI, you need a smoke machine to find a vacuum leak or you can spray water around the intake... Good Luck!!!
Very good Sir....the only part may show to the beginners,it's pinchin the hoose or the way to closse the sistem vacuum.......... Thanks. im having a code in my Ford E 350 van 2003 but it says P0453 Evaporative emission Sistem Pressure sensor/Switch High input. May give me par of You knowledge to have an idea....Thanks .I wish you mecanic Shop near to Maryland....so you can take kare of it.... Thanks a gain!!!!
I have PO442 and replaced the Evap Purge Valve Solenoid and put a new gas cap but now smell gas at the end of the vehicle when it's not running but after starting and running awille it goes away then returned after cooled down
man i need you to look at my 5.3 has po300 pulling trailer new parts remain motor new heads checked by machine shop knock sensors new intake manifild compression test good fuel pump regulator plugs wires and coils injectors are new also catalytic converters are brand new ni cylinder is below 150 on compression test, im at lost with it ,setting at the second shop for diagnoses
What are your fuel trims? What do your o2 sensors look like in closed loop? How's your fuel pressure? Are the spark plugs oem and in good shape and gapped correctly? Lots of little things to try that cost nothing. How does the truck run cold while in open loop?
Hey I have the same truck same issue my check engine light is on I purchased a new evap soilenoid and a gas cap I disconnected the battery the check engine light is on still. What do you recommend? Will it pass smog?
I just discovered you channel. Thanks. I have a 2010 Silverado 4.3V6. I have the P0302, P0303, P0300 and P0446..Service Stabilitrac, Service Abs .All at once before the engine begins to sputter and power down. I've replaced spark plugs. But I was told it's the Alternator? What do I try next? Wires then what?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Thanks for responding. Ok ill try to disconnect wires for the alternator...for how long? Is this like pulling the battery on your phone for a reset? Merry Christmas!
Brian Murphy scannerdanner has good videos on how to use a smoke machine... you should check him out. In this video I explained a little bit about how to use the smoke machine, but I will be making videos about how to use a smoke machine in the near future.
Good video! I verified that my evap purge valve was bad, it would not hold a vacuum. I replaced it with a new one that I tested to be good. The code P0442 came back! I have also replaced the vent valve. I have replaced the gas cap within the last year, not that it means it's good... Do you have any ideas?
Dan H after all the parts that you replaced, I'm assuming the parts you installed are good quality parts, the problem is probably the fuel tank pressure sensor sending a skewed signal to the computer...
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair That also was replaced when I put in a new Delphi fuel pump. I will see if the OBD reader I have has the ability to monitor tank pressure. I should also mention that this mostly happens when it is cooler outside. I live in AZ and when it's hot in the summer the code does not come back. When it cools off in the winter the code will set shortly after the truck warms up. Thanks for your help. I am impressed by your videos.
Hello I believe the Purge Valve could have been a problem, I do not believe that the scan tool can show it stuck at 10%, the solenoid is a 2 wire component, it is either on or off, the solenoid is controlled by the ECM via a PWM voltage signal opening up the solenoid a little or a lot, there is no feedback wire on the solenoid to show that it is actually open 10% or 80%. I believe in this case that the ECM is at fault reporting 10% when it is commanded off. To prove if the ECM is actually commanding a 10% PWM signal you would need a scope on the control side showing a PWM signal, if there is no signal voltage and the scan tool is showing 10%, then the problem is a bad calculation or logic data misrepresentation from the ECM to the scan tool. do you agree?
i have the P0300 code bank 1 of 1, i am not getting code P0442 ,But I am smelling gas. but its not leaking anywhere thank god , what could it be Please help
Tom Mack a P0300 code can be caused by so many things! check your spark plugs and ignition coils, or you may have a leaking injector etc... what are your fuel trim numbers?
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair I don’t know what the numbers are, the gas smell just started a couple days ago, I am disabled so I don’t have much money to take it in, I have new spark plugs I just need to get the wires, why does it say back 1/1 ??
I have a 1998 chevy ck1500 v6 4.3 wt. And it has a po300 random clyrs misfire..and the fuel trims are now 25 on ALL the sfts and Lfts.. what commanding the short fuel trims to go up to 45- 50. And the Longs go back down to 3.5 b1 & b2 7.8.. under load..? Then right back up to 25 at idle for both...And no check light on. But when at highway speeds the check light will come on..then a day or two.. sometimes more and it will go off. Eps After driving around locally . No highways..? I only have a cheap handheld OBD2.. air leak..? Sensors..? And no codes for a evap but on Im it shows evap not ready ×.? ..Sorry I know with out my truck for you to test yourself..lol been having a bad times and costly with the last 3 shops and getting rip off hundreds & hundreds of$$.. any ideas🤔 Please!🙏
William Ward check your fuel delivery at idle and at high rpms, also check 02 sensors and MAF sensor, I have videos on this channel that show you how to test these components, check out those videos... Good Luck!!
