How did I do it and how has it been working out for me? I installed 33" tires on my Chevy Colorado. If this was a Bison or ZR2, it would not be a big story. But what about an LT or WT trim package? With a little help from ReadyLift and some trimming, I managed to get some Toto Open Country M/T tires installed. Granted they are pizza cutters, but they have been serving me well.

I dig it Mario. I also switched to skinnies on my Colorado ZR2, from a 265/65/17 to 255/80/17, stock wheels, running Falcon Wildpeak AT3W. So far so good.

Hey there, Jim. Thanks for taking the time to comment! Yeah, I have been in the sand at the Gulf of Mexico and in some mud elsewhere. I am not saying I can't get stuck, but I am impressed with the traction I got in those scenarios.

You have to do a video on the front bumper if you haven't already, I couldn't find one. Truck looks great I especially like the fender work you had done, I would like to do that myself!

Thanks, Moegly. I did talk about the bumper a little bit in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qFp94ZnD4Wg.html But yeah, never dedicated a video for the front bumper. The fender trimming turned out really well. I wanted to get the fatter GM fender flares, nut I am glad I got the ones that are options for the WT and LT trims.

I need to find a set of those rear seat delete covers for mine. Love the truck!

Hi 15Colorado. Not sure which parts, exactly, you need for your truck, but I show some part numbers for many of the plastic panels in my truck in a couple videos. Maybe you can find what you need using my part numbers in an online search. In this video here, I remove the rear plastic panel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n3mRJS50uII.html If you scroll through, you should be able to see the closeup shots of the numbers.

@@MarioWorkedOnIt its where the rear seats bolt to below the window. On gmpartsdirect its called blank cover.

Ok, yeah. I definitely have that part in the video linked, but it sounds like you already know the part number. Kinda pricey, but what do you do!

I'm currently running a 3 inch eibach suspension lift and a 1 inch body lift and I clear 285-75-17 with a 0 offset wheel and I didn't trim anything 👍

Hey there, AtomicToastCat. Thanks for sharing your numbers. What kind of truck do you have? IIRC, the ZR2 and Z71 package on the 2nd gen Colorado has slightly different geometry on the front axle as well as a taller ride height when compared to the LT and WT trim levels. Just going from memory though.

@@MarioWorkedOnIt it is a 2016 gmc canyon sle with the v6 and extended cab the twin to your truck but with a upgraded interior did come with 17 inch standard wheels and 255 65 70 17s
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
@AtomicToastCat Yeah, I believe the SLE and WT are the same when it comes to the chassis and suspension. The ReadyLift kit I used advertises up to a 32.5x11.50" tire on up to +18 offset wheels (285/70-17) without cutting. Your tire should be taller than mine, yours at 33.8" and mine at 33.1". You never know what will work until you actually try it out!

@@MarioWorkedOnIt do you think 33s 10.5 18 inch stock rims on my 22 wt will clear with a 3.5 lift

@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Hey there, Billy. Yeah, the WT now comes stock with 17" steel wheels and you can get 18" wheels as a factory option.
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Billy, ReadyLift has a 3.5" SST LIFT KIT that comes with new upper control arms. It probably doesn't matter too much which brand kit, but ReadyLift advertises 285/70R17 tires working without any trimming. In a perfect world, 285/65R18 tires would be a comparable tire size. These would technically be 33's but are almost a full inch shorter than the tires I have and I needed to trim the fenders. Botom line, you won't know until you put the tire on.

Hi, Billy. Yes I have the Readylift SST 3.5. If you visit their site, they explain what parts are involved. They also have a section regarding tire fitment. Here is a link www.readylift.com/3-5-sst-lift-kit-colorado-canyon-2015-2022.html

Mario nice truck I'm hoping to do this to my 2022 WT. How are you dealing with the speedo and the taller tire? How does the gearing feel?
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Hey there, sp192x. The speedo is about 4 MPH off. At about 64 MPH it indicates 61. At 30 MPH it is off by about 1 MPH. I depend on my Garmin RV890 as a speedometer. The gearing is borderline. It bothers me enough that if I had the time and the money, I would change it. Granted, I am dealing with a lot of weight towing and hauling all my stuff around. In order to do it right, I feel you would have to get a tune (like a Trifecta). It does OK and I am living with it. The cons I have noticed are, the cruise control is a little less responsive, I never see 8th gear while towing, descending entire mountains on trails requires 4 Low or my brakes overheat. Not sure how much gearing would change the brakes, but thought I would mention it.
@sp192x
@sp192x 2 года назад
@@MarioWorkedOnIt I would look into doing 4:11. I want 33 and don't tow but I would look at the gear change. Mpg wouldn't be horrible as you would use high gear again. Thanks for the content. I also like the bumper. Steve
@MarioWorkedOnIt
@MarioWorkedOnIt 2 года назад
Yeah, it's not like I haven't thought about it long and hard. It's just that I am able to do what I need to do. The gearing isn't getting in the way of that. As for the swaybar thing, I need to air down and be shoving the wheel up in there. A different rim might be the answer there but it has not hampered my day. So I can tow up and down mountain passes and across the country, etc.. We will see. Let me get the current list of projects out of the way, first, LOL. Take care Steve!
