Hey everyone! This video explains how to remove and replace your AC compressor on a 1.8L Ecotec engine. The recharge specifications are listed as well as the PAG oil capacity. Hope you enjoy!
I feel my car really sluggish when I turn my ac on any tips or advice? Should I replace my compressor? My ac feels good when it's on tho and blows cold
No, dont replace the compressor for that issue, you could be experiencing lack of power for other reasons on the motor. Everytime you engage the compressor ON you are putting another LOAD on the engine which causes engine to have to work harder to acheive the same goal of moving the car, so if something engine related like a misfire, clogged exhausted, throttle issue etc, is present, activating the AC load makes the issue worst but doesnt mean its the compressors fault. The compressor clutch could be stuck or requiring too much effort to turn which could also cause the issue. Basically, go get a diagnostic to verify the exact issue
Do I need to refill or add anything into the ac compressor before I put the new one in? Or one does the new ones come with everything you need already. I’m new to this
Hey where are you located? I don’t know nothing about cars and my Chevy sonic hasn’t been having ac for about 8 months I took it to a professional place and they said it would be 2,700 for the compressor installation. I paid them 230$ for them to tell me I have to spend 3k on AC. My car isn’t even worth 3k. I really need your help man I just turn 20
@@RodriguezRepairs I live in Austin Texas. The video seemed simple until the end with all the liquids. Let alone I don’t have any took nor do I know anyone with tools.
