thanks i needed to see the angle of the plug....i always replace the plug with a [fumoto] ball valve and drain straight into the old oil jug. this plug is not pointed to the ground and i can use the long nipple.
Thank you so much because of you. I saved $80 on an oil change and learn how to do this by myself. I know I can’t just speak for myself but learning how to do your own things help you become the man you wanna be
Thank you so much for this video. You were clearr, concise and didn't waste anyone's time. You got a new subscriber this morning. Wish everyone did their how to videos like you do.
You can use a ratchet wrench for the oil filter cap you would have to cut the open end off first because the wrench is too long. Works great for on and off.
You don’t have to, but it will be better for your engine. I recommend always changing the filter. Only in emergency situations would I not change the filter
@@yeehaw779 you have the 2.4 L. This car is a 1.6 L there are very few differences in vehicles, but yours has the filter on the bottom of the car. Also, when you remove the filter, all the oil in the tank will drain so, you need to change the filter when you change the oil
@@yeehaw779 gotcha the 2018-2023 are a little different than the 2010-2017. The car in this vehicle is a 2017 and it’s a 1.6L I guess the 2018-2023 changed their location of the filter
@@FixItFrench Thanks for your reply. I didn't know what to expect. I saw other videos where guys were twisting and shoving and grunting and no one showed the inside of the cap and the end of the filter close up so you can see how the 2 piecs fit together. Mine clicked in easily and seemed a little loose. I used ac delco OEM filter and original oil cap. Maybe the others were using different brands?
Car ramps. If you don’t have ramps, you can also drive on a curb by the road. You just need enough space to get u see the vehicle. What ever you use, make sure it can hold up the weight of the car like ramps, jack/jack stands or a curb. Hope that helps
There are 2 different types, the 1.5L and the 2.4L. The last time I checked the 1.5 has it, but the 2.4 does not. The 2022 might be different, but I don’t believe it is. I will look it up, and if there is any misinformation, I will correct it 👍🏼
@@zofaa1252 what tool are you using to get it off? When they are stuck like that, it’s important to get the correct size socket to open it. You don’t want to ruin the plastic with a wrench or adjustable wrench. If you don’t have a socket that big, you can rent them from an auto part store.
I explained this in another comment. There is a difference between the 1.4 L and the 2.4 L. The 1.4 L does have the cartridge oil filter and the 2.4 does not I haven’t personally changed the 2023 but I have changed all the way up to 2019 and that’s the way it is. I will do some further studying just to make sure. Thanks for the heads up if that is the case 👍🏼
I believe they are the same. The only thing that may be different is the location of the oil filter. Some are underneath the car instead of being connected to the engine block
