Chevy Equinox Traction Control Light - Chevy Equinox Service Stabilitrac P0405 C0561 P1779 

My Daughters 2007 Equinox was having the same problem, I was getting the service Stabilitrac, P0404 & P0405. Two weeks ago I cleaned the EGR valve because the plunger was stuck but all codes came back. Replaced the EGR valve and cleared the codes & all is good. Thanks and much appreciated.

Thank you very much for this video---had codes P0404, P0405, P0115 and P1779 plus the service stabilitrac and traction control warning lights. One shop said they needed to go into the transmission and replace a few parts-cost: $2400. I replaced the EGR myself with ease with the help of your step by step video...result: problem RESOLVED and FIXED! ALL codes and warning lights cleared and passed state inspection. Cost: $80 part, zero labor expense!

i have this problem on my 2009 pontiac torrent. i replaced my egr valve a couple of months ago and come to find out the new one was bad and didnt start showing up until about two weeks ago. thank you for this video. it saved me i dont know how much because i was able to do it all myself and my problems were exactly what you described (no shift lag or hard shifting, just the lights on my dash) so it was easily diagnosed and now its all fixed.

Thanks, I've been stalling on replacing my EGR for a couple of months even though ODM II said there was EGR system problem after I took into to a garage to change rear plugs - short arms - garage wrote on WO had a cracked ERG tube. Couldn't find one on single tube 07 Equinox, or soot on tube but outside tube heat shield was sooty. Also had "service Stability Trak" come on and off for 5 -7 years - ignored it. Then soon after the plug change had "service traction control" come on and alternate with the "Stability Trak " service warning - engine (EGR) fault light always on ... so decided after getting three warning lights time to get serious as they light the dashboard up too much and couldn't see outside temp or Odometer without cycling messages each time I started car. (engine and the 2 messages service lights). Checked the web to see if wasting money - found the save money item about a loose hose from filter to back of valve cover but not a problem - in place. Found a few but came across the three alert signs above you mentioned. Replaced EGR valve and cancelled codes ... so far so good ... there not back. Only thing I noted was the bolts holding the original EGR valve body to bolts to engine were a bit slack for my liking - maybe source of soot on outside of heat shield at end nearest valve body connection ?

Thanks! Had an EGR valve code. Replaced it cleared it check engine light off, and service stabilitrak & traction control lights are now off. I've already had one wheel sensor fail a couple of yrs ago so I thought another one was bad... Nope.

Wow...I have a 2007 chevy equinox...I just scrape off some carbon inside the egr valve and used WD-40 being careful not to get electrical parts wet...traction light went off and so far didn't go back on...eventually may be a good idea to install a brand new gm egr valve...Thank you car doctor.

I had the same faults on my 08 equinox 3.4L six weeks ago. Removed EGR valve sprayed the heck out of it with almost a whole spray can of carburetor cleaner, 3 times in 1/2 hr period. Waited over night and sprayed again, waited 2 hrs for it dry and installed it again. Has been running perfectly fine for the six weeks. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hello, your right on, in my case the tube had rot holes in it,easily missed so I replaced the tube and valve and cannot get rid of code p0405? voltages are good! put old valve back and still the same. c0561 is caused by this for sure! let me know any thoughts?

My buddy and I were able to change the egr valve but I noticed when I took off my oil cap how low my oil level is. I'm making sure I can top off my oil with regular tap water so it won't overheat just till I get paid this Friday? Just kidding. Helpful video, thankyou

Have the problem with my 07 Equinox, taking it to my Dad's tomorrow to the EGR valve replaced so we shall see if all the lovely lights go away! Other than the annoying lights on the dash it drive great.

I had this happen to my 2013 Equinox over the weekend. Went from Fla to TN, when I started the car the next day, it shuddered, and the "StabiliTrak" notice popped up with the Chrck Engine light, but after 1 minute it went away. I was able to make it back home to Fla yesterday and it never did come on again, but I'm getting it checked out today

There is an updated egr valve with a new plug in too.Has to be programed with the Tech 2 after being replaced.The tube also gets bad causing an exhaust leak

Hi Car Doctor, 08 Torrent 3.4L 197000km with stabilitrak traction control and P0404 lights on. I have 5V at the egr connector and 11.9V going to GND at the connector. I replaced the egr valve with a Delphi and the tube as it had a crack in it. Cleared the codes with a scanner. 1 day later it all comes back. Should I replace the egr again but with a GM one or do I have another problem? Thanks in advance.

Have a 09 Pontiac torrent that the rear brake light and turn signal stopped working after the abs light came on. Any ideas? Abs light is no longer on and Heard it could be the abs sensor. Thanks

I have a question I’ve had several guys look at my 2010 Chevy Equinox and no one can find the problem. When driving my suv it feels like I’m smashing the brakes but I’m not after about 20 mins my suv will come to a complete stop it won’t go over 20 mph and that’s max . I disabled the abs module to see if it needed replaced and took the fusses out and that’s not the issue. So I put everything back to the way it was and it’s not getting any better. Can you please let me know what could be wrong with my car the stability light is on and the tire pressure light is on and the check engine like . The stability track light comes on right before it locks up and it’s all four tires .

I have a question about this.. I have this grinding sound. Feels like it's right under my feet when I drive or hit the break. Now when I do my ABS comes on traction control, when this happens I don't hear anymore grinding sound it runs smoother.. My 08 Equinox was in the shop for a week & they couldn't figure it out.. So we replaced front & rear breaks, the ball joints, inner & outer tie rods, & the wheel bearing along with an linement... Any tip in what can cause this grinding..anything, anybody. The shop I had it worked at ran me 1300 for all that.. Then they tell me to pick this ABS system or something I'm unaware of & run me another 300,.So I took my keys & left.

Thanks.All fixed per your video, with slighty increased MPG. I had the same exact codes as you stated. I am not sure why an EGR valve would trigger two other codes including the "service stabilitack", but then I cannot figure out my girlfriend either. I owe you a beer. Hope you do not mind.
