Thanks for the video. It made the decision to take it in and have a professional do it very easy. I guarantee I'd break something and/or never be able to get it put back together if I tried this.
Just did it, you don't have to remove the door latch. Just tilt the panel out of the way and swap the speakers. But all the bolts and fasteners were dead on.
Yeah that was my plan and would have worked great, was going to rest it all on a milk crate, but then discovered I had to drill new holes and went ahead and removed panel it was easy really.
If you don’t fix the water leak then every time it rains your speakers will blow. I really wish there was a permanent solution for this but it appears the HHR is just a pile of dog crap and that’s why it was discontinued
I'm almost positive whoever owned it before me totally abused the car and that's why they blew not so much water got down in there. I believe he hooked up a amp to the speakers it was way overpowered for the speakers that were in there.
@@doransignalidk i have replaced them several times throughout the years and they blow within 48 hours every time. Just the basic speakers that are installed with the car no modifications. I even had a shop do the repair a few years ago, same outcome. blew in 24 hours. I literally gave up i only have tweeters now until i get a new car
