Chevy Impala Radiator Fan Replace--Same for Most Years!

This job is straightforward, but you have to be persistent, and patient! Undoing all the bolts is tough, but lifting out the fan rack and putting the new one in us a lot easier if you have a helper and a pair of flashlights to share. That sucker has like a million edges that will snag on everything else in their way that they can as you pull the fan rack out. Another catch is that some years of Impalas have a push-to-lock pin connecting the rack to the radiator to the bottom that must be undone. My main personal recommendation would be to loosen up the wiring harness for the two fans and lift it out of the way before you pull the plastic fan rack. If time and tools permit, break up the air filter box that holds the ECU so you can move all that stuff out of the way more easily

Following up, your steps are perfect. I did this and tried it without removing the MAS and airbox and you cant do it that way. For others, do it exactly as he shows you.

This is an awesome video but mine had a plug of some kind in the bottom of the fan and it was a nightmare to take off. I wish it was as simple as this video shows. Everything in this is dead on except that damn plug

Don’t know if you’ll respond and might seem dumb but do you need to jack up the engine to take off the motor mounts? Or just be on level ground so it doesn’t move on you?
