This is a really good installation video, but please ask your editor to stop adjusting the audio to 200%.

VERY helpful video. Made installing this intake system on my Silverado very simple. Thanks for the help!

A couple of comments about the install. GMC radiator valence is a bit diff than video but it’s the same concept. Don’t forget to put your hood release lever back on or you will have a heck of time getting it opened back up. The old box and new box were a pain to get out; just be patient and watch the other hoses and wires in the area. The wire harness is tough to get off, I removed the top of the old air cleaner box and it made it much easier to see and get off. I found the new bracket for the for that same wire harness didn’t ‘snap’ into the bracket. Probably will have to wire tie it down so it’s not just flopping around. It’s very close to the radiator hose. I didn’t take off my negative battery; I guess I like living life dangerously. :)

Is the enclosed one better? Why is it more expensive?
@KNfilters
@KNfilters Год назад
An enclosed airbox system provides better performance than OE, while keeping a similar sound and finish. Due to the extra material and components used, this type of system may come at a higher price. An intake system with a heat shield offers comparable benefits of an enclosed airbox kit but offers a throatier engine note and usually even greater performance gains than an enclosed airbox.

After installing mine I received a “Check Air Filter System” two days later...has anyone received this after installing this on their 2020 Silverado w/ the 6.2? As a band-aid fix I went ahead and disabled the air filter notification so it doesn’t show up when I start the truck. Will this harm something in the long run?

How much different is the 6.2 vs the 5.3? I'm doing a 5.3 to 6.2 air intake manifold swap and am wondering would it be be possible to use the 6.2 CAI with the 5.3 motor?

I had a 2018 Silverado with the 5.3 and the kit was the same for both motors. It came with two different size shrouds as the 6.2 has a larger throttle body.

Bullshit, getting that old air box doesn't come out that easy... not without a fight the engine side grommet hands on the wire loom close to the edge. Big pain, did not want to come out...
