That is correct we have the Chevy factory nudge bar. This is available for the Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra, Canyon and Colorado’s. This installs through the factory tow hook mounts. Note on install cut the drivers side bolt off you will save yourself some time !!
Overall, this is a nice nudge / bull / push bar which ever you prefer to call it. The one thing I think they should have considered is having a light mount system built into the bar - either tabs or holes in the tube. Don’t worry we make it work. This bull bar also compliments the sports bar very nicely.

It hooks directly to your frame? I recently got into an accident and I purchased the truck with the nudge bar on it. So I didn’t install it, in my accident I smashed into a huge deer a full grown buck, for me I want it to be totaled so I can purchase a diesel truck. But the first shop my truck was at they told me “our lift is out of commission but we’re not worried about frame damage” I said hell no, tow it to another shop and give me a real full estimate. Do you think if I smashed into that deer and it was hard like my whole front end is screwed there could potentially be frame damage at the front?

In states where we are required to display a front license plate , be sure to remove the factory plastic license plate bracket from the front bumper to remount it to the front pan on the nudge bar after you drill 2 holes in it. Use stainless steel screws or bolts.

I bought one of these for my 2018 Silverado. This is made out of aluminum. Even though it will not rust through the black powder coating , it will still corrode from the road chemicals in our Northern states. I elected to have a body shop recoat all the brackets and bolts in black paint then had it all clear coated. Since I paid so much for it , I wanted to protect the bar and hardware so it will look nice for a much longer time. P.S. DO NOT hit anything with it. It is there for looks. It is NOT a crash bar.

warren wallace 1. Drill 2 holes in the skid plate 2. Buy a bracket that goes around the tube

Not here to trash your video cause I put a bull bar on but seriously won’t save a truck in a wreck mostly looks bad ass and maybe useful for lightly pushing a vehicle without messing up the grill but just don’t think it’ll help in a moderate collision

Because in order to remove the bolt I would have had to taken apart the front bumper as it doesn’t just slide out. There’s the bumper bracket that is blocking it.

I had to remove my tow hooks to have them powder coated on my Silverado. Believe me, it's easier to cut that bolt and then go buy a new one at the Chevy Dealership. It's $12 for the bolt and $6 for the nut! No wonder pick ups are selling for $50,000 new!

As far as lights on the bar go , I'll be using a DOT LEGAL LED single row light bar squeezed in there. It will look like it came that way if done correctly.

I just got mine but sad to say they discontinued the red backing plate. Got mine from the dealer and thought it was with it but after the gmc dealer installed it they said that the red backing plate was discontinued. Really sucks because that was the biggest thing I loved about it showing Sierra in red matching the red gmc logo on the grill. Mine is a 2018 gmc Sierra slt z71 crew. Just to add is that the rhino 2.0 roll bar. I've been wanting one but can't fit one on because of the diamondback cover I put on the truck only thing I've found to put on it is the diamondback headache rack but don't like the look.

Hi Warren, Your truck sounds pretty sweet man. I have heard that they discontinued the backing red plate. Is there still mounting points for it ? If there is you can always add one.

GM seems to always run that LH side long bolt through the wrong way so I always have to cut it off. The ones on the passenger side are easy. I just wish I could keep the tow hooks though. I think I'd put a couple clear coats on it first . It WILL RUST

Any idea if it would fit a 2015? The websites selling them say no, only 16-18. But pretty much all other bull bars say they will fit 14-18. Not sure what the difference would be?

No it will not. I know the Chevy / GMC has a similar setup or had one that did fit.

Quick question does the brackets fit through plastic tow hook holes without scratching or marking up the plastic? I ask because I've seen some aftermarket one's that they have to push through pretty hard and does scratches chews them up a bit while trying to push them into the hole.

No for the most part. You do have to shove it through or remove that black flap though.

I don’t have front park assist, but I would say yes it does or would.

If you need park assist I suggest getting a smaller vehicle. Like a Prius or a tampon box.

Good question, The 2020 Silverado has a revised version available. I don’t know if gmc is still running with nudge bar and if your front sensors will work?

Not to be to obvious but rather than cutting the bolt you are removing loosen the bolt in your way.

Hi Jackson, From what I can see Chevy changed / updated the bar and removed it. That came with the first gen and on the new versions it’s not included. They also changed it to black as well.
