I went from a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, to the Chevy Silverado LT TB and have had no regrets! I love the truck even with the 5.3L. Definitely will look at another when its time and look for the 6.2L!
I think it's a little wack how people say they have the 5.3 like it's a bad thing like it's a slouch. I love the 5.3 platform is tried and true. As a matter of fact the only reason I went with the Cehvy Silverado trail boss LT instead of the Toyota Tundra TRD was because the 5.3 has been such a good motor. My bro has a 6.2 Tahoe and the difference in pull is not worth the extra cost and loss in mpgs.
Yes it is! Only people who don’t own and tow say that! I went from the 5.3 to the 6.2! It’s absolutely worth it! I also keep a trailer hooked up to my truck. It’s used for towing.
Thank you for your mpg info really made feel like the my truck is running ok I just got it . My mpg is around 14.9 mpg but I was just trippen out how other peoples were at like 18 .
No motor issue? I picked up a 5.3 v8 not long ago with 28k on the odometer. Runs great, but all the bad review videos have made me paranoid worrying about something that may or may not happen. Glad to see you’re at 50k and still loving it
@@damfriedchicken9159 damn, how much did that set you back. Did you notice before anymore damage had been done? Think your issue will be resolved now that’s it’s replaced or worry about it happening again?
Yea the extended warranty took care of the damages but im down almost 2k in renting a uhaul pickup for a whole month. Still worried because they only replaced the damaged parts and they advised to replace all but just couldn’t afford to, debating on trading but for now it will do.
I agree, i feel like some come out good and some come out bad just like any other vehicle i had a 2021 Toyota Tacoma and always felt like the transmission was acting funny , traded in for a 2022 silverado limited rst 6.2 4x4 and i have no regrets! Absolutely amazing truck! Just got the pulsar LT and rides better then stock.
I just ordered the 2021 6.2L Trail Boss LT and I asked about the radio antenna and I was told that the shark fin antenna is great for satellite radio, GPS, etc. however it is terrible for AM/FM radio and that's why they still use the long analog antennas. I plan on removing mine as soon as I get it. Thanks for the review and I look forward to seeing you in the 2021 6.2L Trail Boss.
Bought my 2020 midnight edition 6.2l 10 speed in july.....put fuel contra 22x10 candy red accent black rims with nitto terra grappler 305 45 22. Putting a leveling kit in this Sunday. Got a appointment to put 2 10inch Jl audio w3 with a 600 watt Amp and custom box April 6th. My truck retailed for 60k. Got it for 50370. Seriously feel I stole this beast!
1st mode that I did! I ordered a 6in replacement antenna while sitting in the dealership, the day I bought my TB before signing any paperwork. LoL Why Chevy?
I just ordered a 6.2L 10 speed 2021 trail boss LT in black. Borla exhaust, cold air intake. All the upgrades. I have a fab Four matrix bumper, warn zeon12k winch and rigid light. Due to the chip shortage I probably won't see it until January. But I have all my parts ready to go
@@carpetlite22 yeah if you are just gonna take whatever is on the lot. I ordered mine with all the trim and options I wanted. Borla s type exhaust, cold air intake, lift, black trim loaded with leather etc. They don't usually have trucks like that just on the lot.
Love the truck, it looks awesome My 2019 Silverado All-Star Edition 5.3 V-8 in Satin Steal Metallic just turned 2 years old a few weeks ago with 24,000 miles and I love it. I disagree on the engine, this V-8 is incredible drives like a sports car but it's a truck. I too was thinking about trading it in for the refresh in fall of 2022. But after thinking about it and how much money I saved on this one and all the money I had spent on the mods I had done to her I think I will just keep mine, It's paid off. So today I gave her a clay barring, a polish and a wax.
Nice! You have one of the best colors! 👌 I love my truck too but after seeing the refreshed interior I'm gonna have no choice but to upgrade. I'll most likely pick up a zr2 even though it's not the truck I wish it could've been.
@@V8JUNKIES it will be tempting for me to trade mine in if I go just to look at one..... especially if they have it in satin steel metallic...but I hope I can just look and walk away,
@@V8JUNKIES Looks like I might have to end up getting a new one. I am pretty sure the noise that I have been hearing is comming from the right bank lifters. I had them replaced at 5000 miles.. I'm dropping it off tomorrow to get checked out.
@@V8JUNKIES It doesn't sound good, it's a very light knocking but when comming from the same side that was replaced at 5700 miles... and I"m going to have them check the transmission sometime that bump is real bad....so there's two things that a lot of people are having problems with. But I still love this truck, it is a beautiful looking truck.
I have a 2019 LTZ and absolutely love it . No problems with anything. Can't believe all the people complaining . I have the Bose system with a JL AUDIO XD 1000 with 2 10 JL audio subwoofers best system love had. Why don't you mount the amp behind the seat , would look much clearer. Nice Truck though
If you have a lead foot you won't see impressive fuel economy from the 6.2. However, as I've shown you before, my best 50 mile mpg when I drove cross country was 23.9. The downside is you need to buy premium fuel. If prefer 93 octane, but California only has 91. I'm still up to get together whenever you want. I've already hit the Otay Truck Trail. The truck handled it really well. I haven't had the dreaded rear window leak either.
@@V8JUNKIES it's short and easy. Your truck slicks will be okay, lol. The trail is short, but scenic. It starts at a place called Pink Gate and ends at a RV park. The gate at the RV park was closed, so I had to turn around and so the trail again. No complaints about that. We'll need to bring a chainsaw to cut back 2 bushes that are growing over the road. I had no choice but to go through them (twice) and pinstriped my truck the entire length from headlight to tail light. Fortunately, it's just the clear coat and I've been getting the scratches out using a 3M kit that requires a power drill. I'm looking at mounting a compressor in my truck and connecting it to one of the GM Upfitter switches so that I can air up when I finish a trail instead of trying to find a gas station. After I finish that install I'll be ready to run a trail again, and would be able to air up anybody that comes along. Offroading with 40psi makes for a stiff and hard ride. You feel every rock your tires roll over. If we do this, we could make it a day event and stop at a local burger joint, or something, for shits and giggles.
your truck is 😎😎❗ no i dont have a chevy.i have a 2019ram,my door locks work the same way as yours.as for the lights..the top brake lights are white halogen😲all the others are white LED so i changed them like you with "Lasfit"👍and i have the "Comander pedal"to!and of course a "BassKnob"for my aftermarket" stereo"😄😄❗
What’s up bro, First, dope review Second, I’m about to pick my LT up this weekend. Does the sound from the tires change over time. As in from what you can hear from the interior?
Dude did I hear you say you have 20 percent tint on your windshield? In California no less? Truck looks great though!! Love what you've done with it!! Enjoy your purchase sir!!
Yeah My 2019 Silverado had them and when I noticed the 2020s didn’t I was like “huh that’s stupid.” But I was pleasantly surprised and relieved when I looked at my 2021 Sierra that they were there.
Have you had any issues with the Active Fuel Management system GM uses? With the new exhaust can you tell a noticeable difference in sound when the cylinders drop?
seems a lot of people want to have a prius engine in their full size trucks..well until that technology comes..dont deprive yourself of the pleasure to drive V8s...if you want low MPG..these are a few cars..Toyota Prius, Corolla LE Eco ...good video
They got rid of the button on the rear door for the same reason they don’t include a 2 speed transfer case on 4x4 models (non trail boss trims) - cost cutting, aka increasing profits.
Just a fact but the original antennas are for better reception on am fm channels the sharkfin doest give as good of signal and most companies still put these on all of their lower model trucks but gm still puts it on all I believe
@@V8JUNKIES that's just what I've found out from looking into it. The main reason is if people buy a high end truck they probably will buy the satellite radio. Just giving ya the answer to the question you asked in the video. That's what I was told by an engineer from gm.
@@V8JUNKIES oh sorry didn't say this earlier good vidjya will definitely be watching to see if ya get that new one I just picked up my 6.2 trailboss and love it so far ...
I have a 2021 sierra and i have the same rattle inside the cabin so i would like to know exactly where is the rattle to tell the dealer about it... thank you
I just have to ask you, why do you even have a radar detector in your truck ? Don't people only put those things in " fast vehicles " because they don't want to get caught speeding or racing....
Trust me, coming from a GM technician, I would take the 8 speed all day over the new 10 speed. Too many freak issues with no real reason. Seen a lot of fresh 10 speeds shred themselves apart, don’t have a lot of faith in them so far. The 8 speeds had their problems but it was never anything too major. Problems with shudders Could be fixed with a flush, and the rough shift with a new internal harness.
What are your thoughts on the 6speed as far as reliability? I have a 2018 with the 6 speed. Never had a problem so far but I only have 15k on the truck.
@@andrewcox7179 6 speeds are great transmissions, only thing I’ve ever really seen fail on them is torque converters but they are few and far between, you’re sacrificing a few extra miles per gallon on gas. But they are solid. Less parts to fail.
That is literally the exact opposite of what I've been hearing. Everywhere I look, people say to avoid the 8 speeds and that the 10 speeds are much better made.
@@texasfan8892 I should have been more specific, the later gen 8 speeds have been pretty good trannys, the 10 speed is growing on me but when they fail they fail hard, still seeing a lot of weird issues with them, I have an 8 speed in my 2020 Silverado and haven’t had an issue yet, buddy of mine has a 2021 at4 with a 10 speed and has 0 issues either, i only see the broke ones so I can only say say much about them
