I show how I replaced the fog lights on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe. This procedure should work for similar Vintage Chevy Silverado trucks and Chevy Suburban SUVs as well. GMC versions will be similar but different.
I bought those exzact same lights for my 2001 2500 jd from amazon and I thought the plastic bracket was kinda cheap looking but just like yours my old ones looked just the new ones but I’ve had them on for bout a year now with no problems with vibration or anything , they’re not that heavy so really the bracket does do a good job holding the lights in for what they are and weigh so I’m happy with mine so far
Yeah I had the same issue. I used "Auto & Marine Rubber Weatherseal" from MD (or any self adhesive weatherseal) around the edges of the fog light opening to fill in the gaps. The fog lights fit snug now. Seems to be holding so far until I can find something more permanent. The jarring of the fog lights is barely noticeable (I mean you really have to look at it to see it).
the previous owner butchered it up! The air dam has large push pins that hold it on. The fog lights have J clips that slide on to the bumper and then you just bolt the fog lights to the bumper with no nuts. I replaced my OEM fog lights with those same Eagle Eyes that were broken on yours and they are nice and sturdy. Of course if you tug on them they will move. A very great upgrade is to use LED replacement bulbs in the housings. Now, I only use the fog lights as off road only or on dark hiways with no traffic.
Good video, I like how you were able to show the back side of the lights, however, I kinda wished you let us know what size wrenches to use. Maybe next time include what tools are needed so people could have an idea of what size wrenches/tools to use. The fog light sits in the plastic bracket so it can be adjusted that bracket bolts to the bumper if you had that bracket bolted to the bumper tight it wouldn't flop around something wrong??
I know you no longer have this vehicle. I have an 06 Tahoe and replaced all of the light assemblies on the front. At first I had Eagle Eye and the fog lights (in my hands) were flimsy and the other light assemblies didn't seem so good either. These were not installed. I then ordered TYC (capa certified) light assemblies (all 6 of them) from RA. These fog lights are much stiffer and sturdy just holding them in my hands, so that is what is on my car now. I came here hoping to see more on aiming the fog lights.
I just bought a set for my truck. It come with them originally. So I just need to figure out what kind of hardware was used. I could zip tie them up, but that’s not gonna be a permanent fix.
There's just a push-button at the bottom of the headlight switch box and just to the right. Above the fog light button I believe is the rear wiper control. Late to the part, you've probably already finished this long ago.
@@SevenFortyOne I don't like LED lights either, glad to hear of someone else of my opinion. The only good LED option for me was on my riding mower for more light than the 1157 bulbs it came with, but that's it.
Them foglights are junk! Never could understand why GM made such pieces of sh*t for these trucks. There are still no quality aftermarket replacement i have them and they suck! Waste of money
