Ham Radio demonstration and repair with some Chevy Suburban and home repairs mixed in.
Thanks for stopping by! This channel is really nothing more than me documenting some of the repairs and projects I work on around the house, in the garage, and in my ham radio shack. My videos aren't really intended to be "how to" videos. My intent is to document and share the things I'm doing for reference and/or entertainment.

Does anyone ever try to hit 6 meter repeaters from across the country sorry if that sounds stupid im still new to all yhis but ots something that sounds like it might be fun
I personally haven't but I think you are right, that would be fun. Having said that, I know 2e0ukh regularly tries to hit 10 meter repeaters in the US from the UK
Call channel over here is 145.5 MHz. But we hardly get anyone if we call. Even the 19 or so VHF repeaters in our small state of Kerala are deserted except during net times! 73 de Jon, VU2JO
Same problem after years of inactivity but chose service. My eyes aren’t what they use to be. Also removing Sony-Bond from board. Any suggestions on replacing worn off button labels? RIT, TRX, A=B, etc worn off. Decals available?
On my sunjoe, there's no clogging in the system, water coming out of the wand, there's power on the plug ( red indicator ) but the motor still won't start. I am lost 😢.
If I don't have to work OT tomorrow the radio install video will post Friday. I've been pretty busy at my day job so this took some time to get out together...
A sheet of ABS plastic or Kydex, is easily cut, and even moldable with heat. Which makes a great material for custom car audio & radio instalations. But you install looks pretty good!
How would a person protect the device from the EMP pulse emitted during a nuclear detonation to be able to use it in the unlikely event of nuclear war or an accident like Chernobyl?
Just bought a 2007 Suburban LT myself only 2 days ago and so far very happy. Body is in great shape with 300k miles and everything works well with Cold AC and Hot Heat but the motor and transmission were replaced with new crate components only 100k miles ago. Runs and shifts great with a very smooth ride. There are a couple things that feel a little loose but overall a really nice vehicle and especially for the price of $3500
I am from CT as well, best suggestion for a radio and antenna - then place to have it tuned? Going to be doing a lot of upcoming highway work and am compiling suggestions! Many thanks!
I LOVE my beast! She's been fighting me with carb/gas tank issues but hopefully I'll get her started again in a day or two. 2 seasons of leaves are waiting!
JUST GOT A TS-440S YESTERDAY FOR $200. LOOKS NEW WITH NO MIC OR POWER CORD. SO I USED THE MIC AND POWER CORD OFF MY TS-430. THE SUN IS PLAYING HELL WITH THE BANDS BUT IT SEAMS TO WORK OK. EVERYTHING IS UNPLUGED AND COAX OFF ALL MY REGS TILL THE SUN COOLS OFF. ENJOYED YOUR INFO ON THIS REG AS NO MANUAL W/ IT. VERY HELPFULL, THANKS SO MUCH. GOD BLESS, 73, BRUCE BISSELL KE7LGD SOUTHWEST UTAH 84722 (I SUBSCRIBED) 😇
Ham radio is meant to be experimental in nature. So to me that means 146.520 should be open to anything as long as you’re being courteous and leaving enough time between transmits for any emergency transmits coming through.
I didn't really notice much of a difference. It's maybe a little stiffer now which doesn't bother me. I live in New England where everything rusts and this car has almost 200k so I wasn't really paying much attention to the ride quality in the first place...
Thanks for the video; there's a lot more to uncover, but you got me over some humps and able to make use of the device. And, in a reasonable amount of time.
Just came across your video , what did you do in the end ? My garden had different levels in it & hoping to build it back up with a retaining wall or something
Do you remember where you got these parts? I have same unit (for years now) and just failed. Need to repair but can't seem to find the unloader valve / check valves..
