Chevy Volt (2013) rain soaking wet passenger-side carpet due to clogged drain under wiper cowling.

We had heavy rains and then noticed windows had water condensation on the inside. ... Further investigation revealed that the passenger side front carpet pad were wet.
Removed wiper arms, then cowling, then cross brace.
Found drain hole close to the center.
Cleared clog with some tubing connected to a garden hose and rinsed the entire area and then cleared the drain one more time when the drain slowed again.
Directed a table fan face down at the wet carpet on the passenger side and left the window ajar to speed evaporation and carpet and pad drying.

Just did it with my 2015 volt that had wet passenger side carpet after a heavy rain. Used a 50-ml syringe and a pliable hose to dislodge the debris/dirt. Should be good for another 8 years. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for your interest. I began this quick video when part way through doing the task. As I recall, after removing the wiper arms getting the cowling removed seem straightforward. The cross-member was easy to remove with 2-3 bolts on each end.

You mention your passenger floorboard. My driver floorboard is soaking wet. It’s often parked outside under trees and it’s been raining a lot lately. My question is do you think this same clog could be attributed to the drivers side? I initially suspected the AC condensate drain but that’s apparently on the passenger side.

Unknown... Perhaps on the driver's side there is another drain. There is definitely a horizontal drain far over at the perimeter of each side that goes down into the fender area (referred to at 25-30 seconds)... Perhaps that horizontal drain is clogged on the driver's side of your Volt. There is another wet floor volt video that pointed to the ac condensation drain on the passenger side being clogged and so full of water that sloshing could be heard and it overflowed to soak the driver's side floorboards and carpet

Same problem with my Opel Ampera. Driver Side carpet becomes wet when car parked outside in Rain. Opel Dealer tryed 5 Times to solve the issue but after many hours and 1700 Euro it's still not solved.
