Hi everyone!
My name is Dan, and I am a veterinarian.
Today I am talking about Chewy opening up veterinarian clinics. I am providing my opinion on the situation. This is just my opinion, so please take it as a grain of salt.
Chewy Pharmacy is known for providing pet medications and healthcare products conveniently delivered to your door. It's a great option for pet owners who prefer online shopping and home delivery for their furry friends' medical needs.
I have been signing script for chewy pharmacy so far back I can't even remember the days without chewy. Of course, when a pet parent asks for a written script I always provide them with it.
There is concern with Chewy moving into the veterinary space. Chewy is moving from a pharmacy that helps pet parents get their medications like any other pharmacy into a competing veterinary service.
Veterinarians as a whole are pretty darn friendly toward each other. If a veterinary clinics need a vaccine tray or they need a curtain medication, there is sharing locally. The concern I have is that Chewy is pulling pharmacy purchases and they are trying to go over the veterinary service now. Veterinarians are okay with pet parents buying dugs somewhere else, but they are not okay with losing their pet parents to that same pharmacy.
Disclaimer: This is just my opinion.
