I love that you're wearing your pajama bottoms. You are so comforting. Its like I'm sitting in your kitchen with a cup of tea just hanging with a girl-friend. thanks for the great videos!!
It's funny, same as you, we also grew up calling margarine "butter" too. Mom/Dad bought Blue Bonnet in our younger years, then graduated to Parkay. I was well into my 20's when I had my first taste of butter; it tasted like heaven. Thanks for the recipe for these bars. I'll have to try them, as I do Love peanut butter!
I always begin my work in the kitchen with hot sudsy water and a clean dishcloth! I’m w you, Tammy! I’m going to make these peanut butter bars this week!
I love your accent. I'm from Mississippi and listening to you makes me so homesick. We live in Washington state and we also get SNOW. Sometimes knee deep. When it snows, you bake!
Oh my gosh! I live in Massachusetts so when you said you were snowed in I expected a foot and a half, I chuckled when you showed the inch and a half on your deck!
Oh geez Miss Tammy, I couldn't take margarine growing up on our ranch in Northern Idaho. But because Mom used both margarine n butter, I had to eat it. When I started cooking for her at 13, I understood why Mom used both for different recipes. Bonnie Bell I think was corn margarine and I did use for baking but not icing. I only use butter but for years I just couldn't afford it. Your husband Chris is a hoot n its awesome seeing happy people that know each other well and are supportive of each other's dreams. Thanks again for another yummy family recipe. Looks great!! Can't wait.
That cracked me up when I saw him come into kitchen copying your look....lol! He might be a nut....but he is your nut!! So happy to see a happy couple!
I made these when my brother-in-law visited last year and they were a hit! I also added some peanut butter chips to the batter. Yum! (He's on his way now so I'm making them again. He deserves a treat after a 9 hr. drive.)
I just saw an older video of your pnut butter bars. It was a day you guys were snowed in lol. I couldn’t wait to try out this new treat. I’m waiting on my bars to cool before I put my icing now. Hope they turn out as good as your are. Thank you Tammy so much! You and Chris are such a blessing for me
I use self-raising flour for just about everything. There's a few recipes for the holidays I use all-purpose or if I'm baking yeast breads. Great video. Peanut butter cookies are my favorite. I did like chocolate of any kind hardly ever so peanut butter is the best. I always try to keep powder milk in the cabinet..I love cooking with it. We all love you and your family so just ignore all the trolls who comment with anything ugly to say.
Definitely will make some of these! Wish I could turn back time & pick up some of those containers. Red Lid ones could be used for not only Christmas, but also for Valentines Day, like you said, and 4th of July. Save the green ones for March...St Patty's Day, also. Love your recipes, & that you care enough to share! I have been going back to watch older videos, & had a thought...could you make some of the older recipes to show some of the newer fans, & tell if you have improved them, if any.
Oh my word! I just made these and I am not kidding. Best thing ever!!! I probably will never make peanut butter cookies again!! They are delicious. My husband and 4 year old loved them. Thank you for sharing. You have a gift in the kitchen! God Bless
I made these from your recipe the other day and they were amazing! I just love watching your videos and I’m gradually making my way thru both your cookbooks. 💕💕💕
Thanks for sharing your story it made me remember our family in the country we lived in the city but would always visit and there were 4 of us children and we would always get injured my brother jumped out of a barn, my sister got attached by a bull and the horn went to the inside her lip, I fell off a horse. It was still so much fun. Love the videos I made your creamed corn and my son loved it.
I love u Miss sweetie girl I thank you for all u do!💋 A great human being ! I ve been blessed to meet on video thank you for ur time & effort & criss as well.🥰🙏😋
My Nana used to keep a sink full of hot soapy water with a tablespoon of bleach in it. I don't see people doing that nowadays. Thank you for bringing back memories. l love your recipes.
I wish our lunch ladies made these! We made your recipe and devoured them in one day!! I kept seeing the kids (ok, it was me too) sneak a piece throughout the day. Thank you for sharing, we need to preserve these delicious recipes for generations to come. My kids asked if they can go to your school where the lunch ladies make delicious goodies - anyone have a time machine we can borrow? Thank you again!
I have to tell you Ms. Tammy, my mother called the margarine butter too. We never had real butter in the house. I always thought I was getting the butter, never knew the difference. Just the way we were raised. God blessed with a sweet gift. I love cooking and watching your videos. My family is from the South and I learned well just like you. Now I teach my daughters the way its done😊 love yall
I made this🥜 today 4/28/20😋 It was Delicious ‼️. I add 1/2 c mini semi sweet chocolate chips and divided it into 3-7” inch round pans. And gave 2 to friends the other one my sister and I ate😋. Will make again.😊👍🏾. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Tammy I came hunting this Peanut Butter bar recipe, bc they looked so yummy when you was eating them yesterday on that video. 😋 This video says it was two years ago, I can’t believe how long your hair has grown in just two years! It’s beautiful on here and now being longer. 😍 I’m excited to make these peanut butter bars for my husband, he loves anything with peanut butter in it. 😋 OMG, Chris looks so funny in that wig getup. 😂😂😂 Thanks for a fantastic recipe sweet lady! 🥰
Thank you Tammy for making my day. I’m shut in all the time in my house. I just happen to find your videos and you always bring a smile to my face but today I found myself laughing out loud. 😂I love these and I’m learning to cook like moma did. Better than my mom. Lol.
Tammy, I just made the chewy peanut butter bars! Oh my goodness, shame on you! You’ve given me a new addiction. You’re right, they are the BEST peanut butter dessert I’ve ever had. Now I’m trying to decide how many I can eat, then move the rest around in the pan so nobody knows, lol! Thank you for what you do. 😋
I finally made these. Oh my goodness! Tastes like a big chewy peanut butter cookie. I decided not to frost them. I'm sure that would put it over the top but hubby is a diabetic and I can't eat much sugar. This is going to be a go-to for me. Yum!!
I totally agree with you. Jiff Peanut Butter is the very best to use for baking, cooking and of course just eating out of the jar. Yummy! And everyone always asks why I have to use that Peanut Butter for my Peanut Butter fudge and that is WHY. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS RECIPE Tammy 🥰 Peanut Butter anything is my favorite, so it has my mouth watering and my tummy growling 😋 God bless you all ❤ XOXO
Okay, I've been going around looking for a CHEWY peanut butter bar recipe and I think I found it. The recipes I kept finding just resulted in bread-y or cake-y peanut butter bars or peanut butter bars like cookies. I want the chewiness! So I am def going to try this recipe. I fast forwarded through the icing recipe because I like my peanut butter bars without icing.
Sooo I made these last night cause I was bored lol my opinion they are super sweet and next time I will add more peanut butter ( didn’t think it had a strong peanut butter taste) just sweet! And that icing, I put way too much had to take it off. Lol! I enjoy watching your videos cause u bake and act just like my grandma did growing up. Merry Christmas to you and ur family!!
I am a new subscriber. I bought one and two cookbooks. I made the Peanut Butter Bars with the Frosting. They are the best I have ever made and they taste amazing. They are so easy to make. My family loves everything I have made from your cookbooks. Thank you for your videos and cookbooks. I am 59 years old and you have taught me so much. It goes to show....we are never too old to learn new things. My Momma always said that if we are wise we will never stop learning. I also love your Bible study on Real Southern Woman. May I ask when the third cookbook will be out? I am going to get one. I love you channels and how sweet and down to earth you are. May God bless and your family. Thanks again.
Perhaps trying to line your pan with two pieces of wax paper crossed over each other and have the paper hanging over the outside and then you can just pull em all out at the same time. No messy fingers. Then put in that container you have there.
⛄⛄❄ Happy snow Day Tammy !!! Your peanut butter bars looks delicious! All is missing is a cup of hot coffee to drink along with it !!! Thanks for sharing Tammy!!! 💜💗💜💗💜💗
whippoorwill holler on you tube has the exact recipe for lunchroom lady peanut butter bars. They are like school bars. But Tammys are thicker. Now we had chocolate on ours, so I’m looking for the chocolate icing recipe. Thank you Mrs. Tammy.

I made your peanut butter bars and they are delicious! I think I must had taken them from oven a little early they seemed under done in the middle. I put them back in the oven for about 5 min more and they seem fine. I'm taking them to my Mary Kay meeting tomorrow night!
What brand of butter/margarine to do you recommend for baking? I use Blue Bonnet or Imperial margarine most of the time. Also, what brand vanilla do you use?
I LOVE watching you. My Mamaw cooked like you so it brings back happy memories for me. So I have a funny story...I was at my in laws thanksgiving and my sister in law said she was watching this new channel she found who had an awesome mac and cheese recipe and I'm like, me too. Funny thing was we were both talking about you! We love you and your channel 🥰
I understand your affinity for jif pb but I must tell you Tammy, I tried natural pb with your pb cookie recipe and it makes the peanut butter flavor so strong!
Which natural peanut butter did you buy and where did you get it? We've been wanting to try one but there were so many that I didn't know which one to try. Thanks in advance.
1&1/2” snow is a sneeze compared to the snow we get in Virginia. We get feet instead of inches and just get the snowblower out before daylight so we can get to work. When you are awakened by a snowplow on the highway you know it’s going to be a tuff day. We just grab a coffee and get to work. My granddaughter is allergic to peanuts so we can’t make these.
Im new to your ch.love your old school recipes.Tammy you should do a retro cookbook with recipes from the 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s.i love those old recipes.you called your cookbook Back in Thyme.Recipes from 50s 60s 70s 80s and 90s.
Honey....you sure do cook like mama did! Wow, cut me one hurry! Listen Chris... That wig is something. Saving this recipe is a good one. Saying and praying. God bless you both. Bye Lizzie lu
Say do you ever make anything with gooseberries? My grandparents had a patch and every summer all the grandkids took turns picking. That was a horrendous job so we had to trade. Bees everywhere. How I wish they were now that I know better. Hot as hell. And prickers! Stickers! Gooseberry nibblers lol! I was always full of holes back then. But we got homemade gooseberry pie and ice cream sauce. So now I understand how worth it it was...and miss them so much. My granny and grampa. Only ones I ever knew. My Daddy and both my Mom's parents all died in basically one year.😪
