He recalls that time of his life as being young and irrational, noting that he’s since learned to control his emotions after his 12-year prison sentence, all the while sending his condolences to the victim’s family.

I am very proud of my lil bro for the way he has taken responsibility for his actions. I remember the day that this happened and he called me and told what had happened and my heart sank for him. He was dating my step daughter (RIP Toya) at the time and was at her mom's crib in Harlem with us every day before and a little after it happened. Tough time, but he made it through.
