Chibsons: Hilarious Truth vs. Guitar Snobbery 

I have ZERO problems buying Chibsons and upgrading them. It's a fun hobby. The Gibson brand is ridiculously expensive for poor people like me. Are any Gibsons made in the USA? Probably not. Most Gibsiphones are made in China, Mexico and where ever else.

Chibsons are perfect for me! Being a lefty, my options are always limited so this allows me to get a guitar that I like, but it also allows me to learn more about my guitar’s as I mod them….

Man I got me a Chibson Ace Frehley guitar from a friend and just love it. Ace Frehley is one of my all time fave guitarists … Now I can play something that doesn’t break the bank and play my favorite Kiss songs. I’m a blue collar worker. I can’t afford the real deal Gibson. But this Ace guitar is fun to play.

Are Chibsons any different from an Epiphone Chinese Les Paul? Think not. Some of the Guitars coming out of China aren't bad. Mods on electronics are a given. All in all, I wouldn't knock all Chinese guitars...Sort of like comparing an American Fender to a Mex Fender. I understand sometimes some of the workers will work in both factories if called. I could be wrong, but I've heard that.

I gave up on G and F in the 90s when their prices just got stupid. To put it in the simplest terms possible, electric guitars are nicely finished planks of wood with hardware that really hasn't changed much since the 50s, so it's not rocket science, and there isn't one out there that's really worth much more than $1000.00 at most. They got even greedier and hired the asians to do most of the work, so they got smart and decided to make most of the money and gave us good instruments at fair prices. A lesson to be learned, but clearly they weren't paying attention.

Thanks to your vids on this guitar, as an Ace fan, I bought one from ebay shipped to England. Mine is LS Customshop & exactly like yours. You were spot on, it plays beautifully and is hard to put down!! I put Iron Gear Metal Machine pick ups in neck & bridge and I play this more than my amazing EVH shark.Such a bargain for the price (300 dollars) . Do you have any more info on LS Customshop? (sorry if youve mentioned anything Ive missed). Awesome channel too bro
