I don’t know if you’ve checked out Paul DiAnno (Iron Maiden’s first lead singer) but one of his two guitarists uses an Epiphone Custom Shop which this looks identical to. He plays phenomenally and with Harley Benton making this, I’ll be able have a guitar that looks just like that and plays well until I can afford an actual Epiphone custom.
Watched a video the other day from another RU-vidr and he spoke to the Fesley… they stated that the bridge is on correct. They RU-vidr did change his bridge and than changed it back.
I want one of the double necks so bad. As a guy that has been playing since 84, has had every cheap beater, pawnshop prize and high end guitars, China is killing it! I also used to work at guitar center and other music stores. I can’t tell how many pos American made guitars are being sent out. You’re paying for the name brand and companies like Gibson and PRS ( depending on the make and model), are phoning it in at this point.
With the chinese builders I find they always are missing at least one important aspect. If it's got a maple cap. It's missing the fret binding. If it has fret binding - It has a veneer...
Finally saved up enough and bought me a Les Paul classic last year. When I unboxed it, I was very upset. It looked like it had been sitting on the sanding floor for quite some time. Fretboard was dry as hell. Many, many QC issues
Yup I picked up a new Nightswan at a music store the first thing I did was feel the frets and they were just horrible like yours. I would never I mean never buy a new Kramer owned by Gibson. If you’re going to get one buy a vintage one.
I just received my Ace Frehely blue sparkle Chibson les paul last week. It was from a different seller, but it had the same sticker over the headstock, LS Custom. I absolutely love this guitar. I already have to change the 3-way switch. It doesn't always work when it is in the down position. Not a big deal to me. Mine also has the big pots in it. There is nothing else i will change. Sure the pickups could be better, but they are good enough for me to jam wirh in my man cave. No regrets about this purchase!!! Thanks for the review. I was leaning towards getting the Cherry Burst Ace Frehely les paul, util i saw this video a number of months ago. Then i knew i wanted the blue sparkle. Thanks so much for the videos.
There is no good physics-based evidence that the acoustic sound of a solid-body guitar has anything to do with the solid body wood. What you are mostly hearing is the acoustic sound waves direct from the strings (with some acoustic reflection of those sound waves bouncing off the top surface). Which is why it sounds so anaemic compared to a real acoustic guitar. But that acoustic sound is still somewhat important, just not for the reason some people think (wood). It's important because it is indicative of the vibrations in the strings, which of course is what the pickups see. That common misunderstanding about the acoustic sound is often tied to the belief in "transfer of vibrations to the body" as both a significant and a "good" thing. Which is physics nonsense. If it were true, sustain would be very poor, because those vibrations would be lost fom the strings (Conservation of Energy Law). The 'echo chamber' is the science-challenged echo chamber of famous players, guitar journalists, and guitar manufacturers who have promulgated various physics nonsense about how solid-body electric guitars actually work.
Does Chibson make a 1959 LP Like Billy Gibbons' Pearly Gates? I'd buy one!!!! Cos who among us could ever run across one like he did, and the farmer wanted only $250!!!!!!!! Geeze, likely less money than these Chibsons.
Certain builders do make custom tribute guitars of just about anything you can imagine. Its is just about finding the right builder and seller. Cathy Zhong on Facebook is an excellent builder.
