Love me some Chic, Nile Rodgers, the horn section, Jerry Barnes, the girls...Man, the whole package of Chic is like a progressive music machine working together in a well oiled and syncupated manner. Love it!!!
Nile is a real genius! Incredible producer. Wrote songs for many many great artists and never failed. Bernard Edwards was an incredible bass player and developed a unique way to play the 4 string bass. This is one of the best ever band.
I don't think that I've ever heard a better groove than this. Say what you will about the 70's . Even Disco had it's great artists. I don't care what genre this is , it makes me get up and DANCE .
Despite being that "low profile", chill and relax kind of person on stage, I still believe Nile Rodgers is one of the sickest musician alive on this planet. That writing ? Not mentioning Jerry Barnes, pure beast fuck. Seeing those people enjoying music and enjoying themselves this much brings me shivers and tears of awesomeness.
Iñaki-NP he's nowhere near as funky as Bernard was, he just slaps for all the stuff that's too tricky for him to play, so the everybody dance bass line is just gone
To the guy who says too bad it isn't in HD, if you can't see and hear that this is a great live performance in this formatt you will never see it. Unfortunately, most music concerts even those of the magnitude of CHIC don't have the luxury of film crews such as CBS and NBC at the concert. This concert however was adequately shot it looks good and it sounds good. I hope we dont let a little thing like HD deter us from enjoying a wonderful concert!!
There's no comparison of music today an this makes you feel carefree love it.Thank you Mr. Rogers an Chic for sharing your talents with us peace an God bless
Thank You Chic for your music. I'm a former member of the Sister Sledge "We are Family Tour" and soon after I started recording and people would say your music reminds me of Chic. My response: I grew up in the Bronx and Chic is from the Bronx, I toured with Sister Sledge, Chic wrote for Sister Sledge. We had a lot in common. Anyway I'm returning to the recording industry with new songs on Phase 5 Records. Doug Payne & Polygon
Thanks Nile Rodgers for the memories, Thats was a really nice performace, Great band, The singers were fabulous. I wish I would have had the change to hear them in person.
Thanks for capturing the Sound of The Love Vibration Nile Rodgers!! Can You Feel It Every Body!!! Happy New Year!!! Bring It On 2015 !! Time For The Children of The Sun To Shine, Babies!! Take Me to The River and Wash Me Down!!
Nile Rogers rules... Played every track he wrote at Roxy, Studio, Palladium, What can I say, living in the 70's as a DJ, What is not to love!! and make u young again! Thanks Nile
Brilliant set Brings back memories when Chic were starting out with what are now their classics songs whether performing or Nile's writing for other artists..
What a discovery this youtube video. Love! Can't believe only 5746 people have seen this yet. It is miraculous! Can't remain seated. This makes you move. Also moved to tears at the end. So touching, so fragile, so strong this king of soul!
Oh my....the original 'Lightning Licks' Nile Rodgers. The female vocals were always a strong point in any Chic live performance. Nile's guitar makes music so fun.
Modjo sampled Chic not the other way around. I think Nile and Bernard made the best disco music. Nile deserves every credit he wants. He always refers to Bernard in a very postive and respectfull way.
I am not the kind of person to react here but I really feel the need to organise an event to collect money, because we seriously should help those people who suffer the illness which enables them to dislike this ! I mean, I can understand if it is not your type of music, but to actually dislike this, you have to have a serious problem ! :-)
fantástico, essas músicas me levam ao túnel do tempo.foi muito bom quando eu colocava essas musicas do toca fitas do carro do meu pai e saia pra passear.
Brilliant body of work from Niles & Bernard. Interesting tidbit: Niles & Miles used to run together in NY Clubs. Miles' bucket list request was for Niles to write a #1 dance hit for Miles since he'd never had smash #1 such as Like A Virgin. The imagination reels.
