Agreed. He always chose to guest and / or collaborate with amazing artists, all incredibly varied. By doing this he has shown how talented and diverse he and his playing are. From Carol King and Les Paul to Chic and Michael Jackson, there’s nothing he can’t do. He is amazing live, but just as good as a session musician too.
At 4:24 Slash just had to smile a little bit.😊I loved this song when it first came out. This performance of Chic was perfect. Then to bring Slash on break out his version of guitar to Le Freak rocked out the Funk just fine.
Those are the best girls I ever saw. They sound like the original members. They're so much fun. Niles just showed his talents, great playing and singing. Slash had the most fun ever playing next to those beautiful girls.
Slash like fine wine Progressively good as each year passes Niles Rogers I just love the way he plays The entire band and vocals stood the test of time they are outstanding Slash worked so hard on this, just excellent Very sad about Bernard Shaw
Ah, Slash's sly grim at 4:20-4:30, surrounded by both wicked sisters.....like, "yeah kids, we're going to really freak out back stage as soon as this gig is up".......Priceless!
I'd love to be able to just shout "SLASH" and he appeared with a kick ass solo whenever I wanted it. They should incorporate this ability as a summon in the next Final Fantasy.
Final Fantasy Brave Exivus recently had Katy Perry as a featured character. I don't mind Katy Perry, thought it was a great marketing tie in, but I can say with conviction that I would rather be playing Slash as a character or ability in the next iteration of Final Fantasy than Katy Perry.
I'm reading Slash's book at the moment and am at the part when he mentions this night. This was not long after he quit GnR. Pretty cool to see this video that I had no idea even existed.
That was amazing! Including how Slash ran out at the beginning of him doing his solo! Wow! Wicked, cool! Is there anywhere he won't show up?! Excellent!
In 1996, Nile Rodgers was named Japan Tobacco Superproducer of the Year in Japan, and was invited to perform there with Chic in April of that year. Just before the concert at the Budokan Arena in Tokyo, Bernard Edwards fell ill ( Bass ), but despite Rodgers' insistence, refused to cancel the gig. He managed to perform but had to be helped at times. At one point, Edwards blacked out for a few seconds before resuming his playing. Rodgers assumed the absence of bass was a deliberate improvisation and did not learn the truth until after the show. After the concert, Nile went to check on Bernard and asked how he was doing, to which he replied "I'm fine, I just need to rest." This was the last time Nile spoke to Bernard.Edwards retired to his hotel room where he was later found dead by Rodgers. The medical examiner determined the cause of death was pneumonia. Edwards' final performance was issued in 1996 as the album live at the Budokan. Pragmatic and preternaturally talented bassist whose beuilingly simple grooves helped to turn Chic into a world- conquering band by the end of 70s.
"From one end of the spectrum, to the other"🎼🎶 Who would ever think these two, would share the same stage. Nile Rodgers💪; Rocks & "Slash💪; has Soul, OUTSTANDING🤟
The ultimate urban funk, complemented by the ultimate fuzz thrash. 1 great style + 1 great style =s a third thing that is bigger than the combination in theory. Wonderful.
Just adding Slash change the whole vibe that was slick as heck... It's one of the things that makes Nile Rodgers truly one of the most versatile producers in the business - Slash is bad ass
@@DonFuegoTube correct he did a great solo but shredders R more like Mustaine, Chris Poland off Killing is my Businessand Businessis Good (Megadeth).Slayer ,Yngwie Malmsteen check out ECLIPSE or Spellbound now that's shredding.or Herman li of Dragon Force
I believe Steve Winwood is playing organ and keyboards in the back. He just loves to play funk and doesn't need to be in front. Has many connections to Nile. Slash also. I remember him doing an interview and he played this concert. Next morning Bernard had died and of course it was a great lose in funk and music period.
THIS PUMPS ME UP. LIKE REALLY PUMPS ME UP. I WOULDN'T LIE ABOUT THAT EITHER, SOMETHING ABOUT CHIC AND SLASH JUST FUCKING UP THE STAGE GETS MY BLOOD FLOWING. AND NO, NOBODY COULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT THIS COMBO WOULD EVER HAPPEN, BUT MY GOD IT HAS. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, I WAS ACTUALLY AT THIS CONCERT AND WHEN THIS HAPPENED I REALLY DID ALMOST DIE. WHEN WE THINK OF MOMENTS IN MUSIC HISTORY LIKE WOODSTOCK OR FOGHAT LIVE THIS WILL TRUMP THEM ALL. JUST INSANE.
If you want to hear Nile Rip - listen to Chic track " So Fine " - he is Not just a Rhythm player Trust Me. I've seen him perform live, and he can play Jazzy, Funky Soulful Lead Guitar.
Michael Caz who? Is Nile the guy with the glasses and dread locks playing guitar. ? Has he got a sir name? I typed in " so fine Nile to you tube " and nothing relevant! I tried " chick track so fine Nile ".. & nothing relevant.?! I only watched this for slash.. But I am interested in ur recommendations; just i really dont know what yr talking about.? :-) ..could u please elaborate a little further please, or leave a link..ta. Namasté
@@Add_Account485 Yeah - thats him. Nile Rodgers is the Guitarist, Songwriter & Producer for "Chic" - he as played-on, ( and/or ) Produced " More Hit Records " then Anyone in Music History. Fender has a Custom-shop: Nile Rodgers Signature Guitar called The Hitmaker = a 1960's Stratocaster with a 59 - Neck. I've hung-out with him 3x's in NYC = Super Cool Guy - too. Listen to The Entire Song on You Tube = Chic / So Fine.
Watching this and thinking that's the coolest bass player ever. Bummer, looked it up and it was "bass legend Bernard Edwards’ last". So glad the Mud put the "Unk" in Funk.
I started High School as the Disco Sucks backlash was in full swing. All those nights listening to Disco Mixes and wishing I was there and almost old enough to sneak in now even saying DISCO would now get me called a few choice names or a beat down. How is it everyone all of a sudden had some mass hypnosis and liked Lynyrd Skynyrd and other music my Sister listened to who was 7 years older. What happened to "Discoing" as my Mom would ask any time I went out dancing. Funny how my Sister never liked "Disco" but decades later when Get Lucky played on the radio she started jamming. I just looked at her with awe and pity wondering if she was just going through menopause and that momentary hot flash gave her sudden dance fever. After all this time please not now not trapped in the car being subjected to my Sister Act goes Disco. So Get Lucky yea ok great song... but all those years of chicky chicky ahhh ahh and 1-2-ahhhh Freak Out Le Freak C'est Chic Freak Out! or Yowza Yowza Yowza... blasting and not once did she show any signs of Disco Kicks. I would have been happy she finally got Dance Fever and glad she finally dropped the brick up her ass even if momentarily but clapping, singing and some kind of booty shaken was all a bit too much after all this time. A little late for us to be on the same page musically so I made a grab for her good old Steely Dan CD I heard too many times like she heard Donna Summer, Abba. and Studio 54. I told her Nile Rodgers of Chic - Yes, the DISCO (dare I say)group that I blasted since I had my first stereo. you stupid b@#!!$ with those grooves your NOT getting Lucky. She was never up all night till the Sun dancing..maybe drunk at some red neck bar. So much for my music knowledge. Ill always be clueless and 10 playing with my GI Joes. If it isn't in her realm of knowledge it isn't so or doesn't exist so just shut up and if u behave well get Ice Cream. Nile Rodgers and Slash who would have thought something like that could coexist during the momentary mental lapse during 1980/81...within a short time Michael, Prince and Madonna helped fix that and radio went back to playing (don't call it Disco so record execs across the land spun a tale of New Wave and DANCE music yea well call it dance music U mean EDM whatever). Disco Down and Disco Kicks or Throw that D...Work It to the Bone.....Nile Rodgers is a legend and put his Disco stamp on so many of the top artists. Great Performance!!!
djrickz . I positively hated disco or at least new I was supposed to. I grew up a prog rocker and metal head ..... I adore chic and a host of other disco and R &B bands now . Bill is validating me ... thank you brother from the deepest place in my soul
A lot of people saying Slash this, Slash that, and don't get me wrong he's an amazing artist /guitarists... But let's not forget how hot Jill Jones is looking here! What a major hottie!!!
Slash is the best and the coolest guitarist of all time .... hands down .... he just took Jimmy Page and Jimi Hendrix further and further , Slash is legendary
