Who wants to tell me I'm stupid for wanting to shore up the O-line now? We got plenty of big bodies up there, they said. We should focus on bringing in a defensive edge, they said. The O-line has always been our Achilles heel with this team. I love Ryan Poles, but of all people, he should be all about the O-line.

I’m glad the d line is doing well but this video mentioned we have only 1 healthy lineman on offense. So it is hard to quantify atp

the o-line injuries making it harder for Poles to bring in a previously injured star like Connor Williams.

Poles being a former offensive lineman we always think that he would invest more into our offensive line he has done very little to correct the situation and this is the same problem that Justin Fields ran into last year just because we got Caleb Williams back there that's not correct our situation because he'll find himself in the same situation is Justin Fields was in and he just like Fields is quick to come out of the pocket

Yup...except he's not as fast, big or strong as Justin. Caleb may be better at other things, but he won't be the Houdini that Justin was. And god forbid Caleb takes some big hits to the head like Justin did...

Practice for Linemen is typically full contact except for chop blocking. They don't really get days off like that unless it's walk through, or "helmet only"... They're facing a top defensive line daily, so I'm not surprised. My college defense was Top 5 in the nation back when I played and our linemen constantly got hurt, and overwhelmed in practice... NFL teams are not allowed to keep as much depth as college teams, so I'm not surprised it's an issue.

@@WoThatsCrazy Yeah... I watched some film of their practices and saw how dominant our Defensive Line looked. You wanna watch get off, attack angle, and see who's in control of the rep. You can tell how hard an offensive lineman is working by how bowed backwards his back angle is... There were reps where every one of our guys was anchoring down with exaggerated bowed backs... Frankly, lesser lines would have collapsed based upon what I saw... There were two plays where I saw Sweat, and the young 3-Technique execute a punch-press and throw technique that would usually send the Lineman flying... Our guys were barely hanging in there, but they still survived the reps... There's only so much the body can take though... The issue is, a dominant front is sometimes so disruptive that the Offensive Line doesn't gather the collective arrogance they need to bully another team. Bears Offensive Line was Top Ten by Pro Football Focus [who I like and trust]... They're not scrubs upfront... Our Defensive DNA is just strong in Chicago...

I mean people ready to be real about this? Poles knew Teven had an injury history. Poles knew Nate Davis had a history of loafing in training camp. NONE of this is a surprise. Poles sold himself on being Mr. Offensive Line and a former Oline guy. It ain't been fixed. And it ain't been fixed because of forseeable issues in at least TWO of his starting Olinemen. Look at Poles.
