I've seen this video a million times, best NSA video by far. When Tony does 4 540s in a row, I wonder if all the other skaters were stoked on it, or if they were like 'Maaaan, what a dick." haha. I love Caballero's huuuge airwalk. Him and Hosoi definately had the best style in the contest. So fluid. We used to say, maybe cab doesn't mctwist but he sure does everything else...and really well. He did that Miller flip to end his run, I had no idea what that was, but we were all blown away.
Such a great video. Hawk just does spin after spin after spin showcasing why he is the best. But look at all the great names in this McGill, Mountain, Hosoi, etc etc. Awesome video.
In pt 1 it shows Ken Park, who I had never heard of. It said He was riding for town & country and some other truck company maybe, that tripped me out...did T&C make skateboards and have a team etc?
Absolutely. Very rare back then to win a comp without a 540. Phillips did it in Anaheim in '87, but I seriously can't remember any others during that era. If Cab could've done it, he may have won this one. Good times.
PS: It was always a mystery to me why guys like Cab and Lester would never even try a 540. They pulled some of the biggest airs, but couldn't land the 540 for some reason.
@@MarkTheKnife Killer man! I grew up in Addison Il......it was literally UNREAL to see all of my favorite pro skaters rip it up in my backyard pretty much. Those were some amazing days to be a skater!
@kevinbaconisbest he might have, I never saw a video of it though. In Bones Brigade 3 (Search for Animal Chin) they show him trying a McTwist like 3 times but not landing it. He is Cab though, legendary.....and an all time great....I would definately not put it past him for any trick.
