Woo-Hoo! Hell yeah...Chicago Bottle Digger guys are back! Glad to see you guys back with another vid! Man, I've been collecting Chicago sodas for a very long time. Probably more years than you guys have been alive. (Ha...I'm getting to be old as hell.) I've owned nearly every one of the cool sodas you guys dig. It's so cool to see you guys pull these great bottles. Great stuff. That amber Lomax was definitely a cryer. Keep up the Great work guys! Greets from Lafayette, IN.

In 1988 there was a major drought and the DesPlaines River dried up so much you could walk across it. At I-55 and Harlem Av there's a National Forest Preserve for the 1642 portage. The Bottle Collectors of America did a walk through and discarded anything they didn't want. Man did I clean up! I followed them all day.

I just found your videos yesterday, and as someone who loves Chicago area history I love what you're finding! Do you ever sell any of your finds, and if so, where?

Sweet goopy dig! Would be good to mention for the non-diggers all that wetness is due to ground seepage, not poopage! Love those bluing botts as the Giletts are always funky crude, plus they always misspell triple with an extra p as well as some misspell Chineese and blueing with extra e's. Always fun digging error botts. I agree with earlier post of a sauce type bottle and the JJW jar is an oddball. I can’t find any listing and likely scarce if not rare. The Old Dirt Slinger.

Great video! The Marble is definitely a German Swirl Core.

Nice video. Very cool. The bluing was used when washing white clothes to neutralize the yellowing of cotton fabric and iron in the water.

I would say the Columbus is a mini whiskey flask. The KHG looks like some type of sauce or catsup bottle. Very nice dig, glad you are back.

Pop's here. When he gets the bottle, take it and let him get back to digging.

The marble looks like a ribbon core swirl. Onion skins have all their applied color directly on the surface in little patches.

Seems like finding a non-Chicago bottle would be more unusual because so many companies in Chicago & IL manufactured bottles & ingredients.

Why don't people want to see crocks, particularly whole ones!

KH&G is associated with Zanesville Glass I believe. If memory serves, they are known for bulbous bottles

If you ment how does blueing work, ? I can tell you this. It's a light die blue in color made your laundry blue and when you washed it the blue would be out of it. If it was still blue you needed to scrub it on the wash boards more . You basically scrubbed till the blue was gone . It was used to make sure the servants were really doing the laundry.

You could be correct that some used it to see if laundry was properly done, never heard of that before. However, at that time, it was manufactured because laundry detergent tended to "yellow" white clothing. The white clothes didn't look clean after washing. Bluing counteracts the yellowing because yellow & blue are complimentary colors. Bluing does not clean; it only counteracts the yellowing. My grandmother used it because the sediment in her well water yellowed white clothing. Bluing is still made & used today today.
