Today I do a reaction to a Swishout video called Post Last Dance: What Exactly Happened to the Bulls Players After 1998? Head over to their channel and shoot a like and subscribe, he's great! Link is below: • Post Last Dance: What ...
MJ once said his biggest regret is that he didn't get to lose in the finals to pass the torch... if MJ would've played against the Spurs and Lakers. That would've been some great finals series.
He's a man of his word. He said if you fire Phil then I'll retire. As a fan I wish he didn't retire but as a man I have a lot of respect for him for not bluffing.
Scottie was great, but I think he thought he was way better than he actually was due to mj. Hes kinda like the original lebron with that diva attitude. He was doing this crap before 98 too, he pouted on the bench when kukoc took the last shot. And just like bron if he had just not said shitty things we would all love him. I didnt know Harper went to LA, I always liked him. He was like mj with his height and build just not nearly as good lol. Steve Kerr’s story is crazy. The man had some very clutch shots. Rodman was my favorite player to watch, other than mj, his hustle was amazing. It was awesome to see his hard work equate to success. A colorful personality to say the least. My favorite team ive ever watched. Funny how badly some of the players did post mj, another nod to the goat
I agree with all this Matt. Harper was actually much better offensively when he played for the clipper. Bulls got the post injury version of Harp. Still played his role greatly though.
Jordan's time in Washington was, in hindsight, a remarkable run. A 38-year-old veteran with a three-year layoff coming into a team that was last in the league with 19 wins, and leading them to 37 wins without a single All-Star teammate, is pretty remarkable. Jordan's efficiency was down, but that's not too bad considering that the league was playing at a much slower pace in the early 00s, and the zone defense had just been implemented, making many swingmen less efficient. After Jordan's retirement, the elimination of handchecking in the 05 season really started to give swingmen some breathing room.
I think it was an awesome era of the jordan story. He played really hard and changed his game to be a sf. Luckily for him his post game was already mastered before that lol. It was a joy for me watch 2 final seasons of him.
Steve Kerr had great coaches from college and in the pros at Arizona, coach Olson, who is in the college hof and basketball hof. Lenny Wilkins, who is 3rd all-time wins as a coach, basketball hof Phil Jackson 11 chips as a coach speaks for it self, basketball hof. Is greg Popovich 5 chips and the most wins by a coach in nba history. Going to be in the hof. So it's only natural Steve Kerr was going to become a hof coach. With all that coaching, knowledge.
Hey bro! Another great vid. Hope you’re feeling better. Remember I was a huge Charles Barkley fan so I followed him after the suns foolishly shopped him then eventually traded him to Houston. The team that broke my heart TWICE after 93. Charles couldn’t catch a break in phoenix but I can’t say he didn’t have his chances with series leads in both 94 & 95 with Jordan basically out of the league. What a shit show it was In Houston with pippin. I actually ended up rooting for the jail blazers once Barkley retired. I guess I liked power forwards with outgoing egos back in the day because I liked Rasheed’s game (I said game, not technicals and suspensions lol). At least he got a ring beating 2004 lakers. As a Barkley fan I didn’t want the second best power forward on dream team getting a chip by joining Shaq, Kobe and Gary Payton. Lol. Anyway bro, as always, I appreciate your content!
Thank you mvp! I'll be better soon I promise. Just a lingering sickness being stubborn lol. I feel ya though. We were all upset over here to lose Barkley. I wanted him to retire a Sun. We loved him here. I didn't like the Jail Blazers but I was hoping they'd beat the Lakers. I wanted to see Scottie succeed.
As a bulls fan videos about post 1998 are like you watching game 6 of the 1992 finals (and you should do a commentary on game 5 of that finals for the both of us)
"The Bulls have been punished ever since" im glad i lived through the 6 rings, i can enjoy basketball and even garbage tier bulls ball because even if they ever put a squad together to make a finals run, it wouldn't hold up to the three peats. my bears on the other hand ...
If Scottie didn’t act like LeBalco preLeBalco things would have been different. What’s sad too is how much MJ praises Scottie but doesn’t get praise in return. It’s all about Scottie’s shit attitude. I do think he should have got a better contract earlier however. I think the shit contract instigated a lot of his problems
MJ was so fun to watch....His creativity, his apparent ability to hang in the air as long as he wanted, his fadeaway....The iconic dunks and jaw dropping layups, Pippen was good, I am pretty sure a large reason why was playing with MJ, because MJ was a steals and defensive stopper, Pippen ended up taking on some of the same traits defensively and steals wise ended up being high on the career list though not as high as MJ, playing without Jordan, Pippen was pretty average, although he still was above average steals, disappointed in how Pippen has trash talked MJ in recent years though.... Without MJ, Pippen and the Bulls would have no rings, the Bulls games had sold out crowds every game of MJ's career, whether at home or on the road, even the Wizards games sold out at home and on the road....Pippen didn't have sell out crowds post MJ....
Yeah i got a vid on pip coming out soon. I respect pip because he was such a great #2 guy but sadly he didn't realize he got those easy looks and didn't have to deal with pressure because he had MJ getting doubled. He learned the hard way but he's still in denial
The '98 Bulls, I wish we had a statistic of how many new fans found the sport because of the influence of MJ and this team as a whole. To me Phil should get a lot more credit because he knew how to maximize their talent and cover up their weaknesses. Obviously helps to have an unhealthy competitive player in your ranks that only wants to snatch souls and humiliate other franchises.
@TheRealMindCrime since we are here maybe worth checking out if you did not: "Michael Jordan • GOAT LEGACY • Documentary" by a small channel called SportX
Ok cool, i put it on the list. Thanks for the suggestion. As far as influence goes....man...those bulls didn't just get a lot of new fans in the USA but all around the world. Everyone in the league now owes them thanks for how much they make now lol.
Good to see you Sarah! Yeah this was a fun one for me. Funny to me cuz MJ could've easily joined those Lakers with Phil, Grant, Harp and won even more but he isn't a ring chaser. I respect it. Kerr had such a wild career for a guy who averaged around 6 ppg lol. Him and Horry have crazy careers.
Kukoc was basically playing with half back. He was constantly playing with pain in the back.. But hey, he got what he came for. On any other team, he would have far better numbers and 0 rings :)
@@TheRealMindCrime also scored couple of game winners his first season. He was clutch, just not relentless and nuts like best of them were. Bird, MJ, Kobe, and i would put Drazen in there as well
Scottie made the Western Conference Finals with the Blazers in 2000 but lost in Game 7 to the 2000 Lakers who would win the chip. Rodman went to the Lakers in 1999 but only played 23 games. He then went to Dallas but once again only played 12 games. Then he retired. Kukoc bounced from the Bulls to the 76ers to the Hawks before finding a role with the Bucks until he retired in 2006. Jordan once again retired as Phil wasn't coming back, and the team was going to get blown up. After spending 3 years in retirement, MJ decided to become GM for the Washington Wizards, then decided to suit up for them in the 2002 season, trying to prove that he could actually win something without Pippen. Unfortunately, MJ was way past his prime, and the Wizards missed the Playoffs in both seasons and only won 37 games in the weak Eastern Conference. MJ was mediocre at best with the Wizards, putting up around 21 PPG, but on bad efficiency. In his 2nd season, he even came off of the bench for 15 games (which shows that he's not even close to LeBron at the same age). So, unfortunately, instead of going out as a winner, he retired with another 2 losing seasons and no Playoffs
Oh MJ will always go out as a winner in my mind. He still was among the best in those Wizards years but he was old and his resume was intact and so was his goat status. Him wanting to compete one last time was cool cuz he did it for rhe love of the game instead of worrying about his legacy
@@TheRealMindCrime Fair points. Although I don't think MJ is the GOAT, I think it's LeBron. But if someone thinks it's MJ or another player, that's fine with me
Alot of Bull 💩, sadly 😪 I began watching nba since 91. As far as it was availible in Germany. The Team got me hooked .MJ Was still Air Jordan . After his retirement , Game wasnt rhe same . Dirk got me back to nba .but thats long gone too. Better times... To much divas around today .
