Chicago CUBS at Cincinnati REDS 6/3/71 Original WGN Broadcast (partial) 

I was ten years old - my uncle Mike had either introduced us to WGN Cubs baseball that summer, or the one before. I don't remember this particular game - but I remember those Cubs. Seeing the real joy in the faces of the likes of Ron Santo! Today's athletes are so "me" oriented and more caring about their contracts and endorsement deals. It was a beautiful time to be alive in America. Baseball was truly America's game. Loyal players and loyal fans.

Anytime I hear Brickhouse I get chills. He was the broadcaster of the Cubs as far as I’m concerned, not the guy from St. Louis that drank too much. I remember not watching the game but being outside with family in the backyard , it was a hot summer night, and hearing my dad say that Holtzman threw a no-hitter because he was listening on the radio.❤

That would have been cool to have nameplates on those roadies.
