I don't care what anyone says; I love those blue uniforms with the white pinstripes.

But these particular Cubs road uniforms had dark blue pinstripes on light blue base.
@scottunes3957
@scottunes3957 3 года назад
@@BLaw707 no, original poster is correct. uniforms were light blue base, pinstripes were white, not blue. Cubs never had a road uniform with blue pinstripes

We don’t realise how spoilt we are these days where the score and running play is always shown at the bottom or top of the screen and of course with full HD picture. I love watching classic and vintage ball games. Thanks for posting.

I remember watching the 1980 NLCS Phillies vs Astros, WOW what an absolutely amazing series that was. I have watched a lot of baseball in my life, but I still rank that NLCS at the top, so much drama and extra inning games, plus Pete Rose and Nolan Ryan, Mike Schmidt, Tug McGraw, Jose Cruz, Lefty, Joe Morgan, Terry Puhl, just so many good players. What an amazing year that was, THANK YOU for putting these games up, this brings back my childhood, you are the best.

Can't thank you enough for adding all these wonderful Cub memories that I grew up with as a kid. Buckner, Kingman & Sutter...some of my heroes!

Templeton! My favorite #1 before Ozzie! Back then it was the worst trade for me ever! Also Mike Tyson played for the Cardinals also.

LOVE the National Anthem being played on the baseball park organ! that way, some "up & coming" pop/rock, etc, singer can't twist it to Boost their career. This was pure and simple. Innocent.

A very nice game pitched by Lynn McGlothen. I loved him when he came up with the Bosox in the early ‘70’s. His early death was so tragic. Great to hear Brickhouse. A fantastic TV announcer!

Great to see a rare road WGN broadcast from this era for the Cubs before the start of the Harry Caray years. I do think the Cubs should had their blue jerseys and white pants road look out sooner than 1982. I would've loved to had seen them start wearing it in the late 70s. I liked the blue pinstripe uniforms too.

That's why batting helmets cover one ear. Tyson bit off a batter's ear lobe one time and they had to change the helmet design.

I think what they are doing to todays games is aweful --trying to quicken the pace and all to make the game 90 minutes or so. They're taking away ALL of the strategy of baseball. The runner on first takes a big lead, you step off the rubber. Or the batter stepping out of the batters box to regroup. And they're even told to swing more now so Walks and strikeouts will go way down. Why can't they just leave baseball to be baseball and all of the drama will follow? They don't want drama --they want ACTION! Baseball is at its best with action and strategy. I think they're ruining the game.

Faster than that actually, from the crack of the bat, I clocked him at a little over 11 seconds but we don't see him stepping on the bag so had to kind of anticipate. But, look at Garry Templeton's triple later at 1:39:25, he clocked even faster at 11 flat WHILE slowing down on his way to 3rd!

You should do a little research on Cardinals moves during the 70's. Carlton, Richie Allen, Jose Cruz, Reggie Smith, Bake McBride just to name a few were traded or sold for basically nothing
