Bill Madlock helped the Bucs win the WS in 79. Bill was a great young player for the Cubs from 74 - 76. However, they traded him to Giants after 76 because too cheap to pay him what he was worth.

This will be an interesting series. 2 teams with struggling offenses and great starting pitching thus far. Great recipe for low scoring games.

The difference between the east and west coast divisions and the central division is obvious. The teams on the coasts aren't afraid to spend for premium talent and the central teams always go the cheap route and hope to catch lightning in a bottle. The Cubs are the most able to out spend their division rivals but every year they refuse to do so . As long as the fans come out and fill the seats and do their feel good sing alongs their ownership has no incentive to loosen the pursestrings and because of this the best they can hope for is a first round playoff exit , and that's assuming they even make the playoffs.

How did they come up with the MLB schedule this year? I think it's ridiculous. It was 32 games before the CUBS played a division opponent. Now we're playing the same 2 teams for the next 4 series.

The sad part of all of this offensive problem is why David Bote is sitting in 3A totally lost to the Cubs. Did he say something bad to management? He is being paid all this money and right now, is as good a SS as Dansby. Happ is totally lost at the plate and you can't have 2 instant outs in the lineup. PCA has to stay and Mastro goes to 3A and bring up Bote as he can play anywhere.

Pirates are doing this because cubs not hitting and these rookies have a chance to look very good. 🤦‍♂️

Pirate guy pretty much only interested in talking about his Pirates, and their young pitchers. Sam willingly to discuss both squads, in pro fashion. Let’s whip them Rats with our restored lineup. Go Cubs - let’s continue to dominate them.

Hopefully Skenes will get a real good look at major league hitters and the difference between that and the little guys in triple A 😅.

This might be the toughest series pitching matchup of the year. It will be exciting to watch Skenes debut. Let’s hope the Cubs dormant bats come alive or it won’t be pretty.
