According to what I read, the name originated because it was near the former Union Stock Yards, which employed thousands of European immigrants in the early 20th century.
The businesses with "spanish" names or titles are mainly either Mexican or Puerto Rican, not Spanish. You will most likely never see a Spain flag anywhere.
Back of the Yards is named for "being in back" of the Union Stock Yards. The Amphitheater was part of the Stock Yards then Canaryville until boundaries changed and it is now part of Back of the Yards.
I remember I was with my uncle driving down saints hood, I saw 3 dudes all masked up outside the store on 45th and wood with AR15s in broad daylight lmao, them boys don’t give a fuck
@@wisdomtriper405nah we quickly drove past them, they was throwing up the halo at everyone but we was cool, my uncle lives in saints hood so he knows people there
Back of the Yards comes from back of the stocking yards. The area around it is still an industrial area. Think of Chicago neighborhoods like this. Back of the Yards = neighborhood. New City = community area. Other neighborhoods can exist in community areas. Ex. Wrigleyvile, LakeView East are neighborhoods in Lakeview. Let me simplify it. Community area is like Chicago's boroughs. Except they're smaller and theres alot more. Another ex. Wicker Park, Bucktown, Ukrainian Village are all neighborhoods in West Town
Definitely confusing to non locals how some of the unofficial neighborhoods (Wicker Park, Wrigleyville, Bucktown, etc) are part of a larger official community area while other ones (Back of the Yards, Pilsen, West Rogers Park, etc) are basically just entire replacements for the official community area name in the area. Plus you've got divided areas like Rogers Park vs West Ridge, Englewood and West Englewood, etc that are often just thought of as one continuous neighborhood
The name is because in the 1800 it was and still is home to slaughter houses in the stockyards based on 46th and Racine hence back of the yards (stockyards) didn’t u notice the stench closer to 47th and Racine
Damm some of those drivers have no patience even when you were driving normal speed people were still driving around u & cutting you off. I know NJ drivers are impatient but this place is worse.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Thankfully I traveled all 48 states and slept in every state. Walked every city and documented over 400+ neighborhoods in 48 states within a period of 10 months. Chicago was chillin... I was probably crazier for walking Los Angeles California's skid row territory at night 12 am with 2 cameras. And all this other shit on my including money 🤣🤣🤣🙏 God is great. 💯 Chicago's where I got my face tatted.
@@TOON215 I'm not kidding, they shoot cops,u won't see to many police off the man drag, lot of drugs, guns, and now they're pimping the Valenzuelan migrants
Clean up the dead on Jefferson Harrison. Get more Sweet baby Ray's on 33rd and Ridgecrest. If you died trying to get to the top of any thing the struggle is real.
This was shot over 1 year ago when I was traveling all 48 states. I'm done my 48 state tour. 🙏 1000 virtual tours on my channel. I stopped doing tours. They got boring 🙌
