Very cool! I've spent so much time on this trail, it's one of my favorite places in Chicago! Lots of memories there. However, I believe the orthodox route is to take the North Ave pedestrian bridge and run the trail along the zoo, rejoining the "outer segment" just south of Belmont. You will notice there are trail markers along the former, and not the latter ;) Knowing runners, I'm probably going to start a flame war with pple who are VERY serious about the "correct" routes!!! :o
Every weekend, I used to ride this trail from north to south, then south to north. It was an all day affair and I often packed a lunch: nuts, water, and fruit.
Just happened on this video and was thinking the same thing for the running purists. Where's the photos from running by the zoo? Under Fullerton bridge? Gatorade at Diversy Harbor? Rejoining the pavement at Belmont? Good video anyway?
