Ravenswood is very safe and rather affluent. Rogers Park and Edgewater (my neighborhoods) are now very safe. North Park is a very safe and quiet lower-middle neighborhood. The near north side is very rich and safe until you get over to LaSalle St and River North, which can get dodgy at night. Some near northwest neighborhoods can be edgy, but are mostly safe. The far northwest side is clean as a whistle.
