Incredible, vintage footage of the Chicago & North Western Railway around eastern Nebraska. I bet a lot of the people seen working here considered themselves lucky to still be employed as 1933-34 was pretty much the height of the great depression. Thanks for sharing!
Really neat. I appreciated the narration, especially the tour down the line to Hastings and Lincoln . It was concise enough to allow me to trace down the line on Goggle Maps. You can still see the "ghosts" of the roadbed or through the towns, even where farm fields have taken back the right of way. It brings the past to life.
I've just stumbled upon this gem while looking for C&NW videos... I followed the frames and commentary while looking on Google maps for each town mentionned. Very few are recognizable, but this was a real time machine... Thanks for uploading !
