I rebuild an impact gun. This is a good quality tool worth rebuilding. I had a friend machine a part and now it works very well. Worth the time to rebuild.
I have 2 of these in my tool box and have rebuilt both of them. Had them for years. I agree that they are a good piece of equipment and are worth repairing when starting to wear in the vanes, pins and anvil.
I always warm the case with a small propane torch oil it and slip it on quickly. I always build them from the back cover up and fill impact hammer assembly with oil then oil case and warm it up as I said before and push case over assembly right down to the gasket and it is complete and no force necessary.
I do have another that i plan to rebuild and yes I will follow both of your advise. I never claimed to be an expert. I just enjoy doing this kind of thing. Thanks both of you.
I hope you can find it. You may find it on Ebay. I believe this CP model is their most commonly produced impact gun. It should be easy to find. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@JourneymanRandy what does that ball do? I got me one of those impacts at a yard sale for a $1 and I plan to hack it up. It worked but I want handle shorter or not to exist at all and I only need it to turn in one direction and don't want a trigger for my application. So if I find a way to eliminate that forward reverse switch you could have that ball.
It is the detente for the four position power selector.Let me check if I could get it. Very generous of you but I don't think its very hard to get. Thanks James.
