The projects was serious back then I came up in the 90s and early 2000s when the buildings in most hoods was cut up by different Nations so when you came from outta the PJs to visit or whatever you had to know which buildings to mess with. You pull up you get surrounded and you had to run it down or have somebody with you
I grew up in Humboldt Park off of St.Louis and Wabansia ...times were rough and U had to be rough N tough to make it...especially if U were white in the park...
I lived out south between 95th and Ashland and 95th and Western Ave. I lived in a beautiful but extremely racist area with a huge Irish population. Back in the 80s, one of my friends would take me to Chicago Ave. and Pulaski to Orr High School for parties! It was a completely different world from how and where I lived. I went to the county in 88 as a teenager and met other teens who had been in the juvenile penitentiary years before that! I never understand how people would just live there and complain. The older I get, the more I realize that people were so used to living like that and couldn't see life any other way! My mother constantly told me not to go to places, and I needed to find out why! I feel like people just subscribed to hopelessness. If I told someone that I was from Beverly... they're trying to do something to me because we had big houses with nice yards and driveways! My parents were never in the projects and refused to have us live anywhere near the Eastside or Westside!
Beverly is one of the most liberal neighborhoods in the city. Your thinking about Mt.Greenwood that is west Beverly. There is 0 crime in Mt.Greenwood. Beverly is half shooting gallery.
I lived in Auburn Gresham. 76th n Racine My parents couldn't go west of Ashland. As yrs past I couldn't go west of Western. Then, California. It was white gangs and neighborhoods on b.s.. Chicago was and still a rough city. I also grew up on 110th n King Dr. the Roseland area. There was a white gang called the Pony Express Boys. This was mid to late 80$. We couldn't go south of 115th or east of Cottage Grove. Pullman area They knifed a classmate of mine. We were 10 yrs old attending Holy Rosary Catholic School. The whole city is gang.
@@Ovell215they may call your neighborhood the jungle but they also call Jackson and California the jungle. I grew up over there in the 80s I know what I'm talking about.
4:40 - In one breath this "man" speaks arrogantly about how well his life is. In the next, he's crying that politicians aren't doing enough for him and his community.
@@DixieSchizo Too late for that buddy. This country already stripped everything they had in terms of culture and survival. Which is why so many are so directionless now. Ya reap what you sow.
They pimp out girls no matter the age and no matter the way. They just need her to be vulnerable and say yes. 🤷🏾♀️ It's really up to women to say no and know that they can do better. But it takes better examples to lead
@@HOODKINGSofficial You better tell him. Grew up on the low ends and am a South Sider for life. Damn near got caught up in the Hornets back in 1983. Went off in one of they buildings trying to see somebody with my shit cocked to the right but was able to get up out that mf! Back in the days. SMH
Some of you people must not even know the facts CHICAGO since the 1900s has been top 3 on murder rates . LA and NY have improved the rate Chicago is different you have to be from here from the segregation to wealth distribution. Most of those building are gone and is empty land and they tried new housing but the community also needs to step up.
It's representation and services from taxation. The most coddled preferred demographic in america has been taking welfare since the Homestead Act. The biggest whiners and psychopathic when they don't get their way. Manifest Destiny complex in the flesh.
Lmao don’t understand why ppl keep saying bloods and crips was the original gang banging. Only ppl from California believe that goofy shit. There was gangs on every coast way before the bloods and crips was even thought of. Now if y’all wanna say that the bloods and crips took it to another level with the violence then cool, you can get that all day. But y’all ain’t start nothing. That’s like saying y’all hip hop started on the west coast 😂
As a non-gangbangin non affiliated citizen and I thank God everyday I dont live in ChIraQ and you can't be a disciple or have growth or development with the mayhem death an destruction that haunts those streets .....it is a broken dream an sickness that it's still guys in Chicago who gang banging in 2022
Y’all sold drugs in the community. Gangs “organizations “ all the same. That’s why the old man finally drops his rakes. Gang and drugs destroyed black nation wide.
HH towers gone but the duplexes and townhomes got built/rebuilt and are very much still there just called Westhaven Complex. And it still has alot going on. Just drive through on a nice warm Friday night @dassolosyndikat5113
@@icepick976 Disciples by far. Disciples were like the crips, VL's were like bloods. And ironically when bloods and crips started making its way to the midwest.. Bloods and Vicelords had a connection as the GD's with the crips.

@@markquisgreen1359 shitd they ain’t got no hot rappers rite na that’s VL. And only reason the nation/world hear (heard) about us G’s and the BD’s is because of the rappers (Duck (R.I.P big folks) JoJo (R.I.P lil folks) n nem other niggas) beef that’s happenin na..
@@mr.x653Bloods and Crips were out BEFORE People and Folk Nation. Blood and Crips have NO imitation nor inspiration from Chicago other than than the 2 Stone sets in LA than were under BRIM and now BLOOD. You can't speak on something when you're ignorant on all the info. And to go even further, they're were gangs in LA before Crips and Bloods anyway. LA has it's own gang culture and Chicago has theirs. But LA gang culture was WORSE than Chicago. During the 80-90s, LA had much more gang related crimes and murders than Chicago. Chicago was 2nd by a measurable margin. This is during Chicago's peak year trend in the early 90s.
@@WhatYouWantWhatYouDontWantAbsolutely correct . These nonblack , wannabe chicago trolls are not gonna acknowledge that tho . A pack of strange and funky white boys who have no life and secretly wish to be from chicago are the good troops who make these comments .
