Sometimes in Chicago, a home`s first floor is actually below the level of the streets and sidewalks outside. So Shayle from Evanston asks: why are the streets so high in some neighborhoods?
@aydrianindigo7015 clearly it could not happen, especially back then. People who do this kind of work in this day and age say it's an impossibility. We are being lied to. I'm not fooled.
Seems weird they decided to start raising buildings in January. I'm not saying you can't do it through the winter, I'm just saying all the problems the lack of of water shed was causing the city also is a problem when it's frozen in January and you have to dig a hole to get under a building
@@edgarperezlfwl correct they use this jackscrew BS and 'raising' crap in many cities just like Galveston. Interesting rumor was behind niagra falls theres a cave that is one of the entrances to hollow earth.
Cities were built originally without sewers, or heat pipes, water pipes, electricity, etc (because they had Wells in the basements originally, no electricity, and used out houses or chamber pots). Overtime cities/towns obviously grew larger and on the sites of old infrastructure. Once all these new innovations we're developed the cheapest way to install things like sewers, electricity, water, heating, etc wants to put them on the ground level and put a street above it. And then in some cases there was a mud flood I suppose.

Ancient Rome was not built with a sewer! LOL it was renowned for its heat pipes as well. Read Pliny... This city is going back over 2000 years so "originally" cities were built with sewers.
However it's complete BS that anybody raised a stone building on jacks. How ridiculous. The answer was literally already given in the video that they brought in the dirt to raise the ground level. Lol.
Why are you telling a news station to stop gang violence? What are they supposed to do about it? They’re not cops, so you’re telling the wrong people 🤦♂️
@@vincentsumner5232 They didn’t raise the building! They unburied it after the last catastrophe. When we came out to restart civilization in the late 1800’s-early 1900’s these building were already here. We inherited them. Our history is being hidden because they had access to free energy and were actually more advanced then us. You really think horse and buggy people built these? Let alone raised them? No! We couldn’t build these today.
