Till this day if you get stranded in the wrong neighborhood in Chicago at night I promise you it feels like you in that movie The Warriors, just trying to get back home😂💯
I got a flat tire at 3 in da morning in little village. Hit a pothole. Didn’t have a Jack but had a spare tire🤦🏾Many Mexican bangers walked by & drove by and didn’t give me a second look & I’m black and was standing outside of my car. Eventually two Mexican good Samaritans walked up and asked if I was ok. I told them my situation and they ran and got a Jack and put on my spare for me and got me rolling. It all depends on your look and how you present yourself. Bangers know other bangers and they knew I wasn’t one. All of these guys aren’t demons as people say. They just got enemies and gotta protect themselves 🤷🏿♂️
Totally. I'm white and lived and worked in some of the worst neighborhoods for years, walked around alone at night, etc never had any issues and people were friendly for the most part
I'm a Saint from 45th street also from the 80's/90's...one time this older Saint came up to us and said there's some GD's on 44th ...We went up to em and it was three older black men their car had gotten stranded....we helped em out, gave em a jump and they went on their way.....I was always raised to be righteous no matter what.

this is when gangs was at an all time high. One gang would run a territory and destroy the neighboorhood and start extorting, bullying and beating up, other kids, thus creating an anti gang to that gang, and the new gangs do it to someone else and so on. Most gangs are formed to counter other gangs.
What happen to the rebels they were gray and red. They were cooler but balck gds and kings lile Always started acting lile cowards. They start bringing guns and shooting. Instead of boxing and king fu fighting or wrestling.
@@fidelsolis6070 also drugs got involved too. So when big money got involved people stopped caring about fighting. With crack, heroin, meth. The gangs were able to better equip themselves for wars. People were still getting jumped shot, and stabbed.
Nah. Bible said he who worshops or idolized and trouble person with problems will become a problem himself. What the hec happen to the brazers? They got scared and retire early. Loco boys same to them n theres only a few left. Alote of gds got shooked out many hoods South to north and West side. Oh & many hoods of kings crumbles into pieces. Few New members. Crasiez retired. @@larrycoleman9513 Yeah i know that. They had fewer weapons back then. Some of them would travel from these cities all the way to Mexico and get alote of drugs personally. 90s n 80s. I had my gun at the time and i pulled ot out to scare him and they Apologized. But months Later he kept talking shit. He doesn't learn his lesson
Anyone know how chicago murder rate was so high but the gangs werent as scattered as today? Or were generations of people pretty much dying in the same spots?
Gang shit happens in a lot of different ways. I was in a tagging crew that grew and got the attention of actual bangers. As beef grew our numbers grew into one of the biggest gangs in the city and the most hated. Shit starts out as fun and adventure and can turn into daily anxiety real fast. Then you get over the anxiety and it becomes a thrill.
My dad grew up on Diversey and Avers in Logan square during the 80’s to about 2005, he’d told me about how wild it was. He managed to get caught in the middle of a few shootouts. A group of cobras checked him once and then started shooting at him for no reason right by koz park. The area is definitely more gentrified now so it’s not as bad as it used to be but I honestly wouldn’t stay out there. Love the content, keep it up
@@ChitownG82 Facts, I remember living there as a kid I was barely allowed to play out front bc you never knew when something would pop off. My grandparents still stay on Avers and say it’s really got a lot better. They got lots of new condos popping up

Good upload. Vintage. The GD thing comes about in 1974. Notice how the internet skipped the entire history of the Disciples till BGD came about in the 70s. That's the second generation of D's. Both Rangers and Disciples had plenty of sets before 1965. The Disciples have been in the news since 1960. They were called Devil's Disciples until 1969.
I have a hard drive full of documentaries I got from the 80s and 90s, some I got of brothers who taped them back in day and are no longer here, I'll upload em eventually
Brooklyn had Disciples in the 60s(before Chicago). Chicago put titles on their mobs(Devil or David Disciples). Brooklyn had GayLords in the early 50s(before Chicago). Chicago started the Almighty GayLord Nation(7/12). GL is the only Nation in Chicago you can't diss(They throw up the L & the 7) 👆🏼ord's 👇🏼/ 12
Bonz Malone has the best Larry Hoover doc I’ve ever seen. He had all the Ogz like Prince Tennessee breaking shit down. He was really in the streets interviewing people who were there
@@bmstyty3549 BK had Disciples(it's a name that came from Budda Discples and the ones from the bible). It was a common name in the streets for street gangs bacc then
I miss those days because at that time during the 60s, 70s, 80s, & 90s Chicago street gangs were referred to as organizations/nations that operated under a code of silence with a lot of organization & structure. nowadays you see very little of that in street gangs in the city of Chicago!
@@jackman435 nigga chicago was killing 800 ppl a year during in the early 70s . thats the exact same as 2021control means nothing if its a damn street gang
I am 54 I grew up in the humble park area on the 70s and 80s and it was bad I got hassled by gangs every day I would take alternate routes to avoid them only to run in to different clicks I hated it back then but them areas now are much better than they were back then.

Just seeing Humboldt Park back then brought back good ol childhood memories. I need a time machine so I could rack up properties before the gentrification.
Some artistic brothers, guarantee if they have more after school programs nd people thst actually invested in them they could put all these skills to proper use
no doubt. it's still the same way in too many parts of Chicago. while the north side and west loop thrives, the far west and south sides still have the same problems: lack of proper education, community infrastructure, job opportunities leading to kids to seeing gang life as the best option for them.

I don't say this to be offensive because language develops and I totally get why slang evolves, but watching modern gangsters vs these guys is interesting because you can understand these gents super well. Watching modern gangsters the slang is so heavy and "mumble rap"-y sometimes I'm totally confused lmao
I didn't know white boys got down like that. I got a knew found respect for Chicago now at least back then. It was so diverse. Now everyone just blasting each other over Hot Air
The whites started awl the bs in the world then took it into politics to keep the bs going leaving the blacks & Hispanics to fight each other for crumbs
Fa sho fam email me, I'd definitely do that 1 night when I'm free, hoodkings@mail.com, I take pride in being the first brother to run a RU-vid channel dedicated to oldschool nation history, it's just unfortunate RU-vid shut down my original channel or I'd have a channel close to 500k subs, least that's what the quota says
I used to live at W. 18th Street in Chicago, Pilsen side. This brings me back to when I used to walk to the store with my mom and watch the gangs hand out in the streets. Lucky for us, we were part of the neighborhood and considered to be one of them. A lot of them actually were very nice to us and the people from the neighborhood and made sure the kids weren't in danger. I know not all gangs are that caring, but I guess we're some of the lucky ones.
Depends where in Chicago you reside. Chicago is a big city. So we might sound a bit different depending on what part of the city you grew up on. Even I have a hard time understanding the slur from certain hoods. Especially the younger generation.
Chicago had a big influx of black folks in the 20’a and the again In the 60’s from Mississippi, Chicago, DC, and LA the only major cities that really kept the accent it’s just mixed in with the mid western accent.. let’s not forget to mention the fact that the founder of the Black p stones, Gangster Disciples, and the black disciples all originally from the Mississippi and a lot of folks out west and on the south side have parents or grandparents from Mississippi
I love it when he said Kedzie and Diversey my grandma literally lived on the corner that was pretty rough area to too many people died at that JJ Peppers that was right there

Who originally started Gangs along with the gang sweaters? I thought chiraq did then I saw warriors and all of it is exactly what I thought chicago started first.
Its wild hearing them talk about getting hit with bottles and actually throwing hands. Crazy how savage its gotten. Are there any all white gangs out there.
Was a lot back in the day, but to be honest every gang is mixed today, sure there's some that have more whites than others, originally the predominantly white Gangs were Simon City Royals, Playboy's, Northside Insane Popes, Southside Kool City Popes, Insane C-Notes, Chi West, GLs, Taylor St Jousters, Stoned Freaks, Insane Deuces & Two Two Boys always had a large number of whites, then there's many Gangs that started predominantly white but never cared for racial politics like the Saints of 45th & Wood, mostly a Polish gang originally, Satan Disciples were mostly Czech, Ambrose had a lot of Italians, Ridgway Lords was split down the middle Mexican & White, lot of history right there
Black Gangs tend to recruit more down racial lines, but as for the others just a product of the neighborhood, if the neighborhood is mostly Mexican & Polish the particular chapter of Gang will be just that
No I'm white from 63rd and erbarhart that should tell you something there isn't much white people anymore because the new generation made there own gangs up and don't allow white people in gangs but Larry Hoover and king david thats all they had mostly white people thats all there was in Chicago was Italian mobsters I took oath under Omérta when I was 12 years old it fell off I join the GDs I'm white they dont care as long as I hold my code and stand on what I need too
What strikes me about these kinds of footage is the commonality of it all. I used to be involved with something that, depending on how you look at it, could be called a gang. There is no way in hell anyone with a camera could just step in. No way in hell anyone would just stand there and calmly talk of the goings on. What changed? Media? The bandwidth of acceptance of the general public? Or the general perspectives on one's place and role in society? I do see this group change with every generation, and it fascinates me to see how every new generation clearly carries the mark of it's time. For instance, the new kids are much more polished - but also much more ambitious in their ideas about what they are involved in and where they want to take it. I think there's a lot to learn from these things

Something that doesn't get talked about often is the whites gangs from the 70s and back, before many white families left Chicago for the suburbs. They were just as ruthless. Gaylords and other white gangs.

I think them SDs not GDs. But growing up in Chicago it was 4 gangs in my neighborhood; Stones, GDs, CVLs, and MCs. We all went to school with each other, we played together, we respected each other and we mind our business.. we did NOT help each other we mind our business. And b4 yall mention war. War stop the money. I grew up when you hustled on the block
Interesting how the gangs where racially divided then became united...then divided every 10 years... in Southern California... different race gangs got along until the 90s it was blacks and asians vs hispanics and whites... specially blacks vs mexicans... but then now starting to get a long again... its trippy
@SD SD haha how can you even compare when you can't even call that chicken scratch in lala graffiti. Its honestly funny not one banger out west can tag.
Proverbs 4:14-22 Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
