I picked up their first album in '68 and played it at a block party and people kept asking me who they are? I said, the cover says Chicago Transit Authority. It was in the back of a rack of discounted album at our local drug store.. The rest is history too.

Chicago ended with Terry Kath's death in 1978. He was the band, not Cetera. He founded and played the arguably greatest guitar ever witnessed.

Terry Kath and Peter Cetera was Chicago not this format now!
@JerrySullivan1969
@JerrySullivan1969 9 лет назад
mcdaddydrewpounders I respectively disagree..while Kath was the soul and Cetera was the voice, Lee, Jimmy and Walt will always be the signature of the band and Robert Lamm's writing will always define their history. I have seen them multiple times with Jason and he adds a fresh take on Cetera's stuff. While, Champlain and Pardini bring some of Kath's soul back. But I agree, Kath was a special player/ singer. Gone too soon. Keith honors Kath's playing very respectfully and Tris keeps a solid groove.

We must move on. Kath was nice but these guys evolved. The horns were the signature not just the catchy pop ballads

Funny nobody ever mentions Danny Seraphine 1 of the original founding members. And Peter Cetera!! Wow really people. It wasn’t it the horn section. It made the band flipping amazing. But if you are going to include only horns. Sorry it’s about the whole lineup!!! Lead vocals bass guitar drums and horns. Those 7 original members AMAZING.

Zo štyroch pôvodných členov chýba Walter Parazaider, ktorý dostal nápad vytvoriť rockovú skupinu s dychovou sekciou. Inšpirovala ho pieseň Paula McCartneyho Got To Get You Into My Life z albumu Beatles Revolver z roku 1966.
