What if I wanted to take @sunday jog thru there w/no money or personal material possessions on me **just out looking for exercise trying to get some sun on @peaceful sunday afternoon?!?...
Charlie if you read comments, i started watching ur drive thru videos which are dope and i know you trying to expand doing the interview thing and you mean well, just know so did Zack TV and we lost him. Stay safe bro, dont ever try to overreach for an interview. I saw both you and Zach go in peoples houses for interviews, thats risky, all it takes is one fool having a bad day.
R. B. that's exactly what I say. I left a comment on his video before this one, when he was in Chicago Englewood interviewing so-called ex gang members. He does a lot of videos interviewing shady characters which could be very risky. Especially going in their homes, that's VERY risky, especially if he doesn't know them personally. It's better to be safe, then sorry. NO channel, or subbie views, is worth losing your life or getting hurt over!!!
@@SweetDreamz0223 I don't think he's scared of losing his life. He's old school, back then you never thought about tomorrow, for today was always a fight. It shows you have a wonderful caring character to want him to be safe, but I think he's got this. Him doing this shows a reality most people will never see. Hope you come to the east end of Newport News Virginia someday Charlie, there's a turf war now, no one is safe at the moment.
@Pedro Gunderson No doubt. The East end down here eats people up. Mid town doesn't like uptown, north end hates west, and on and on. Too much drama, too much coke and heroine, meth is hitting hard in some spots. The popos won't even travel in some of these streets.
driven around here and chilled here with friends before, Garfield Park area, one of the highest density crime rates, dark red on any crime map, but if you’re with someone who’s local it’s not that scary, still had my anxiety pumping every time there was a loud noise, didn’t go at night, don’t go at night lol
Bruh, i grew up on 67th between marshfield and paulina, that gas station across the street from kfc is a staple of my life. You rode past fat alberts on ashland, another staple. I live in atlanta now, i needed that lil refresher of what its like to be home. Thanks bruh.
Last night I was listening to Chicago PD. Within less than10 minutes, dispatch sent units to a car security alarm, a home burglar alarm and a "possible drive-by". And the beat goes on....
My best friends in college were from down there. Literally one of the streets you drove on. One weekend i took them out there and hung out with them. We even went up in one of the project high rises that’s since been torn down(Rockwell Gardens). Everyone that saw me asked me what the f*ck I was doing down there. Everywhere I went after that where people complained about the neighborhood... I’d tell them, “this isn’t bad.”
always tap your horn a couple times when coming out the alley just before you get to the sidewalk coming on to the street, some police will give you a ticket for not doing it.
Salute for showing GP bro, i used to work at Marshall hs on kedzie and adams and this is the real field of chicago, alotta ppl hear the name of the hood and think its sweet when this is in fact the most dangerous hood in all of chicago. These vicelords and souls are on some purge action
@@alanpeterson6224 u sound ridiculous cops is an edited show that only airs the criminals they catch you fucking moron they don't air the random ppl that they stop for no reason and have to let go..IDIOT
Ain't No Depression, it's Like the South Bronx in NYC where you had Hoards of Rundown Abandoned Building in that Borough, Burned Out, Trash for Miles to See, Crime was a Joke in the South Bronx, as well as Drugs & Murders. With Chicago... the Story was that Owners of Buildings, Houses & Apartments were Walking Away for the Properties, due to Neglect & the City Knocked them Down! Some were Bought for Redevelopment, some which were Never Redeveloped, Etc, & then the 68 Unrest After M.L.K. was Killed, the Westside was Hard Hit & Never Rebuilt! that's One of the Reasons you have Vacant Areas of Chicago on the South & Westside.
Maaan, when that dude in the blue truck starting backing up, I thought you'd done got yourself in a choke point and some goons were about to run up. You brave going down that one.
James Cee he obv ain’t out there how he pose to know, and I thought the same shi I thought they was backin cuz they noticed Charlie following them or sum
1888 RIOT MUSIC Lmao y’all funny, y’all mean suburban as in white? Cause that’s what America mostly about, ain’t nun pretty about Chicago’s suburbs especially the south, some are good, some are bad, but all a suburb is, is a residential outskirts of a big city. Like Compton. Comptons a suburb of LA but it’s a urban feel and a small city.
@@josephjakubec3171 Well one thing I've learned being a property owner. You'd better hold on to your money and fix up your property. Or that B-word is gonna fall down on your head.🤣
Tobias Orion *rFitz* - I can appreciate that sentiment. May they find the wisdom to realize it takes a bigger man to stay low-key, stay out of jail, educate yourself, and perhaps even start a family than it does to claim a gang/block, illegally carry, speak like a half-wit. It takes cajones to forgive, and love one's enemies. Thank you for your comment.
God heal the system first, thats the crumbled foundation "these people" are standing and depending on that is failing them every single day. They might have more of an incentive to heal if they were given a reason to, if they knew it was reliable and knew it wouldnt be ripped out of their grasp or from under their feet come tomorrow. They didn't choose this, it chose them, and until the money hungry freaks that sustain this corrupted system wake up and realize that theyre not the only ones who exist and matter, ^^^ this wont be changing or healing anytime soon. Thats like asking a woman in an abusive relationship to heal when she hasnt yet left and is subjected to the abuse every minute of every day, or asking an alcoholic to get clean when he is surrounded by only alcoholics. You can't heal when youre standing on a foundation that is crumbling beneath your feet. The foundation needs to first be destroyed and then rebuilt to work for everyone involved..... then the healing will come. Healing comes with safety and a sense of stability and structure. Chaos and unrest festers in the throes of survival mode. I speak from personal experience.
ForJustice &Truth - I wish I had hope that these money-hungry freaks, who perpetuate and profit from this broken system would experience a sudden, paradigm-shattering epiphany, and start putting others before themselves, but my logical mind thinks this system/these people can only be removed forcibly. I absolutely agree with you that the folks living in these types of areas did not choose these sufferings and struggles. Instead, they were chosen. This is a systematic attack perpetuated by Lyor Cohen, greedy bureaucrats, Gordon Parks, unreasonably stiff crack cocaine litigation, weaponized legislation disguised as "democratic" "welfare" programs, and many other contributing factors/people. I do have hope that education on these particular subjects/people mentioned in the previous sentence, as well as education, in general, can and will be the single strongest determining factor as to if and how quickly this situation will turn itself around. Thank you for clarifying that the foundation, system, and infrastructure must be healed before the people will heal.
There is still beauty to be found here, in the changing season and the architecture, and even the crumbling facade. It's when your daily activities are impeded upon by confrontations and challenges to your presence on the street, and the occasional violence through mistaken identity or stray bullets, will it make for a difficult living here. But those very elements that create a sense of danger is what makes a drive through video like this interesting, as opposed to, say, a drive through West Los Angeles. CB313, thanks for the clip. 07:30 Your pristine paint job just took a hit.
Took my girlfriend to the Garfield conservatory for cute holiday pictures and when leaving to go home we drove though the neighborhoods we quickly realized we were in a bad part of town when we saw men waving guns around like it’s nothing having BBQs in the streets and loitering together up to no good. At stop signs I can definitely say I was pretty scared and we got out of the neighborhood as fast as possible lol
At 0:15 that is 1500 South Saint Louis born and raised on that block 56 years ago..That was when your neighbors look out for each other we truly was a community, I still have friends on that block that I grew up with much love.
I had friends that stayed in Garfield Park and I went to HS right over at Alraby I’m familiar with part of that area and the MP mall flea market sucks. So is the Jerk Taco Man still open? I heard it closed down. Thanks to this video I finally got to see the new 95th redline stop last time I was there it was just starting to be built.
I grew up in Chi-Town. I love my city. It's savage and often times cut throat and ruthless, but its a beautiful city and so much more. If you can survive the Chi you can live anywhere.🔱🔯
Funny story, me and a couple college buddies actually went to a music festival in Chicago and our AirBNB was in west Garfield park on Lexington street, safe to say one of the scariest nights of our lives haha, gunshots going off all night, people knocking on our doors, total nightmare. Would do it again 👍
Sounds like the projects I lived in. I was in Youngstown, Ohio and there were indoor and outdoor shots ringing off day and night. Hitting the floor happened so much that I just laid on the floor. That's how they get down.
You’re lucky you have the chance to do it again, but if you’re serious, and you’re actually keep going back to bed neighborhoods like that one day, you won’t have a chance to do it again, honey!
7:40 Best name for a steak house.👍🏻 8:20 Faster than driving! That place nasty at night. Keep your doors locked! No more women jumping in. Or anyone else.
The media make it seem more dangerous then in the 80s look it up I live there in the 80s and 90s its madness my family still live there in those decades you could not even make eye contact because your life depended on it we had crack and HIV on top of madness at the highest level no one could get a job If you make it out you can make it anywhere because you understand what respect really mean
I walk those streets many night praying PTds but as I got older I knew elohim had favor on me because through it all I remain righteous Chicago is a demonic playground waiting for you to allow the deceiver to use you many are weak think about it what make peoples do the most unthinkable shit with ease little demons
Back in late 1979-early 1980 I lived on Peoria near 57th Street. At the end you showed Lloyds Lounge! 😍 Was in Lloyd's back then once - omg, blast from the past!
I dont know the person who made the video, but there were a couple times I watched them take a turn somewhere and thought “there’s no business of being down there”
Damn man . The save a lot at our local plaza just got shut down for good . Crazy lol , can't believe how big they are I thought I was just a local Ohio / WV thing .
This is bad but the worst 'hoods here in Milwaukee are just as rough. My friends that live in Chicago always tell me that if I'm on the South side of the Chi that I should just avoid going west of Sox Park. From what I've observed, that seems to be advisable. What's ironic is that Bridgeport on the South side is really becoming gentrified and the real estate prices are skyrocketing. Unless I'm mistaken, this area shown isn't very far from there.
parts of it are still relatively nice looking, and the conservatory is beautiful. theres also revitilization starting from the east side. the southside has a long road ahead of it before it is ever a good place to liv again but the west side, particurally garfield park, is going to be gentrified soon.
He is in the trenches but most of the time people don’t shoot at car driving through allies unless they in the back🤦♂️ def stay safe cuz nigga will think you coop with 12
I'm a cat? Stop lying. Everything he said was facts. why is a man crazy just for going to a dangerous area? when some people live their whole lives in that area? everything ain’t that black and white. you can get robbed in what you would think the safest area is.
& it was Whitey who Made Life for Most Blacks in Chicago By Not Letting them Move in Good Neighborhoods, that's why You had Unrest in 66 When M.L.K. Marched in Marquette Park, which was White Racist to the CORE & Blacks Couldn't Move in that Section at the Time & Dr.King Fought for Equal Housing in Chicago in 66. & When Dr.King was was Killed in April 68, it was the Westside of Chicago that was Hard Hit During the Unrest & a Lot Of Businesses didn't Come Back to the Westside of Chicago, which Today Looks Like a Fucking War Zone! & There were Other Areas that Blacks could Not Live in In Chicago, Due to the White Establishment that didn't want Our Kind in there Lily White Sections of CHICAGO at the Time, it's Changed Now, But Not a Lot Today in Chicago.
me and a buddy drove through englewood side streets around 1 am on a summer saturday night after we got knocked out of a pool tourney down at red shoes---yeah, englewood is scary---saw large groups of bangers on very dark corners---about 30 to each group--hell, i drove right thru the stop sign and while i went slow the whole time, i was scared and not long after, we got the hell out of there--what creeped us out more than anything, was seeing at least one cop car on every block for MILES--never seen anything like that before and im from the city--chicago is the real deal no doubt.........
This is the video that makes me concerned for your safety. Your fans don't want you to get caught up in a shootout, and we all know how violent these areas of Chicago are in 2018
