@@johndiraimo1444 marimba *bars* are made of wood or composite, whereas vibraphone bars are made of metal. Notes have nothing to do with what they're played on, you can play the same notes on a marimba or vibraphone. The point of my comment was to imply that when I try playing anything jazzy on a mallet instrument, it doesn't sound as good as when Gary Burton or Chick Corea does it. Stop being pedantic.
