This song gives off such a warm and cheerful ambiance. It’s like a warm embrace and being handed a hot cup of tea on a cold rainy evening. *Edit* If my understanding is correct, this song was not included on the original recording, but came later in the album's 1988 release. Still such a truly gorgeous piece...

Back in the mid 70s, one of the first albums I bought with my own money as a teenager on minimum wage was by Chic Corea. Almost half a century later, when I go about my daily day, Im surrounded and deafened by crap they call "music"; but when I listen to Corea works like this, I keep gaining a new appreciation for something Ive enjoyed a thousand times over, in direct proportion to how I now miss Chic. His permanent departure from music now casts a Crystal Silence.

If you aren't familiar with it, be sure to check out Stanley Clarke's "Song To John, Parts One & Two" featuring Chick, Stanley & John McLaughlin, all on acoustic instruments. Phenomenal trio work. I think it's some of Chick's most beautiful acoustic playing, ala "The Romantic Warrior" title track. Find it on Stanley's 1975 album "Journey To Love"...ps, maybe Chick is up there playing with Trane & Miles right now...🎷🎹🎺🎶

Perhaps someone more knowledgeable about the situation can help me-when I first bought this cd about 20 years ago, I understood some of the material on it, in particular, "Windows", was not released on this lp, when it was first released in 1968. My question is: did they wait all of those years to put quite simply, the best version of this tune that I've ever heard done, on the cd reissue, decades after it's initial release in 1968-or was this version released before this cd reissue-and when? And this is an excellent album; he(Corea)took the 12 bar blues format and manifested in the common vernacular, the "variation on a theme", if you get my drift, concerning the various pieces that were on this album's original release-and then-if that wasn't enough-had all of these EXTRA UNRELEASED compositions(including his version of "Pannonica", which is also perhaps, the best version I've ever heard of this classic piece; my only criticism about this piece is that it is too short, time-wise)withheld-which never "saw the light of day" or were heard by the listening public, until the release of this cd, in the 1990s! 1-10-24; amended 1-11-24.
