Hi I made a few of these boxes after seeing your your tube clip. Thank you for the idea. I did find with the plastic boxes I used that the plastic was thicker. So I used a cordless angle grinder (small one) and it cut the hole in seconds. Made it really easy and no chance of cracking the plastic. My chooks really love them. Thanks for the idea.
Could be an easier way to gather eggs. Now you have to take the covers off each time. Should have built something where you can raise the whole top and gather at once.
If you don't object to using feed from the store, you might want to try using what they call laying crumbles. This will help your hens lay eggs once a day if they are old enough, and not too old
So today my mum found a chicken 🐓 on the said of the road and we don’t know where she came from but my mum feed her and I was thinking about taking her back to our house but I know nothing about chicken and if I take her back do I need to take her to the vet or do I just take it home and keep her? Sorry for my English...
This is GREAT INFO!!!Thank you. If I get 3 chickens, how many nesting boxes should I make? would it be three? Mind you my city backyard is kinda small.
pretty sure 99.9% of people can tell exactly how you made them with out you showing how. thanks for the idea but did not need the how to make it part. also you dont seem the farm type cause when you moved out the old boxes i was like city boy trying to make it in the country cause nobody uses converse hi tops to farm and you don't have any muscle in your body and no calluses on them hands also seem to not like getting your hands dirty and judging by your complexion id say you don't go outside much. you don't seem, act or look like a prepper to me. little tip... those boxes wont last near as long as those you took out. the sun will destroy them and you will be making new ones in around 6 months. make them with solid wood not plywood cause ply doesn't last near as long as solid wood. bonus tip... the girls like to have a ledge to stand on in front of the nesting box so they can choose which box they want to lay in. keep going you'll pick up on these things as you go.
