Yes, the recipes are tasty, (I now make the Bahn mi baguette regularly) but where you stand out for me, is all the other wonderful parts of being human in your work. Smell the lemon grass as it's sliced; feel the chill of the air in your lungs when you step outside while simmering; hear the clack & chunk of the knife as you shape the forth coming experience; delight in the comfort & contentment of having not only made yourself feel good with an act of creation, but also nourishing the machine that houses you. It's similar but I bought this from a small Chinese market about 10 years ago. It didn't come in any packaging and has no brand inscriptions on it. I believe it was only $30. That market is no longer around.
