This is so helpful. I received one piece of lemongrass last spring. It is a full plant now, flourishing in the ground just outside my kitchen door. This is USA zone 7a, so I will be harvesting soon as you demonstrated in your video but also saving some to propagate in water over wintertime. Thanks so much.
I just came back from Phnom Penh and ate this dish. It was unique, lighter compared to Malaysian or Thailand's noodles dishes. I really love how much herbs is used in this dish. Although I'm proud of my country (Malaysia) varieties of laksa and noodles, I think Cambodians should promote their food more to the world. Cambodia has so much potential. I already miss the taste of this dish already.
I enjoy watching your cooking demonstrations, very soothing and clear. I want to try this puffs, do you think I can bake them instead of frying? Good work!
Only seeing this now, but thank you for showing an alternative way to steam this! I don't have a steamer, but I would probably attempt something similar to how you've done it. Was that a regular frying pan you used?
@@iSoundpro thank you for the questions! Dehydrated chilis that have been rehydrated have different aroma profile and still contain less water than fresh chilis. I remove the seeds to make it less spicy.
@@ThunThunChannel Thank you for the reply! Going to be making this paste this weekend for a thai red curry, I usually use mae ploy paste & im excited to make my own. i love extra spicy so ill keep the seeds in if that's the case & will make sure to get dehydrated chillis!
Lemongrass tea, my mother used to prepare this with a cinnamon stick and cloves. Thanks for the harvesting tips. I have a few running wild down here in GA!
Don’t waste your time watching this video. It’s mostly about saving the seeds. You can use the skin has the same taste as the leaves. The juice can sometimes be sweet sometimes bitter can use in sauces. You can also freeze it. You can also use the juice and shampoo. That’s the gist of this video.
I bought a kaffir lime tree From an asian grocery store. It has produced tons of limes and leaves. I use it for thai green curry but I am looking for more uses, I think it could be used to make some sort of candy. It has such a distinct taste and can be overwhelming.
